What's up with the 10 p.m. timeslot for Stargate Atlantis?

I just noticed that Stargate Atlantis will be showing at 10pm. at least for the next few weeks.
Seems to me that young kids won't be able to watch at that hour.
And 10pm is kinda late even for me.
Is Sci-Fi making a mistake?
Or are they burying the show???

Good thing I saw this thread. I completely forgot about the season premier tonight. It is going to be a little odd not watching SG1 before SGA.

winnar. The SciFi Channel hasn't been a fan of the Stargate series in recent years for whatever reason even though they've been a cornerstone of Friday night.

That's the truth. I'm going to miss SG1 - I still liked it post-McGyver.

The Stargate properties have production standards too high for the network - they make SciFi originals like MegaSnake look bad. Oh, wait, they look bad all on their own - ok, SG makes those look worse

As was proven by Sci-Fi's canning of Farscape. They have no freaking sense of what their viewers want to watch. They instead spend all their money on goofy ass shit like "Mega Snake"
