What's up with the nipples?

I was just walking through a local department store on my lunch break and something came to mind that I have been thinking about for awhile. Why is it the trend is now to put protruding nipples on store manikin's?

Anyone got some answers?

thebestMax- I have noticed them for about a year now getting more and more prevelant in the stores until now it's like every store you go into has them!

I for one am HAPPY nipples are in.

In hot and humid Florida, the last thing I want to wear is a thickly padded bra...

A few years ago, I was told that I needed to cover them up so I spent lots of $$$ on what they call T-Shirt bras at VS. I hated them!!!! Hot, sweaty breasts are not happy breasts.

Thank goodness I can go back to poking out in thin,light, comfy bras without shame.

true story: when a store at our local mall got those manikins my boyfriend went into the store window and pinched the nipple of the manikin
his friends thought it was teh funniest thing they had ever seen.
i pretended like i didnt know them and ran away.

The little rubber dust cap that went over your brake bleeder nipple has probably decomposed years ago. So what do you do to prevent road crud from clogging up the bleeder nipple?
Go down to your local home repair store (Menards, Builder's Square, Home Depot, etc.) that carries wire shelving (such as ClosetMaid). They sell little soft plastic caps to go over the cut rods of the shelving. About a buck or two for a bagful. They don't seem to deteriorate, get hard, or fall off. I've used them for several years.
