What's with my idles?

So, I've got an inexpensive new system just set up:

Antec Solo (w/Arctic Cooling 92mm fan in front, replaced rear Tricool w/Arctic Cooling 120mm exhaust-only fan)
Phenom II x4 955 @ stock
ASRock 890GX Extreme4
2x2GB G. Skill ECO 1333
Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W

I was poking around in the BIOS and browsed over to the temp monitor. As I watched, the temps steadily increased from 28 to about 45, where they hold steady. Isn't that just a little high considering that the CPU & heatsink were lapped and I'm using Ceramique? I went out to Best Buy & picked up a Rocketfish cooler to see if the stock heatsink was the culprit, but the temperatures don't really seem to be affected.

It's been a while since my last build, so any help would be appreciated

Try testing it in Windows. BIOS temperatures always seem higher than idling on Windows.

Ahh, I thought it was the other way around. My mistake, then.

Speedfan has it sitting pretty at 37. That sound about right for pre-cure? I guess I'm just a little surprised it isn't lower considering what I did (plus the fact that I'm still using the Rocketfish cooler).

It's because that solo sucks for cooling. I had 2 of them in the past and the only thing they had going was silence. Try running it without the side cover and if it does run cooler, you found your problem.

Popping the side off didn't seem to do anything. Maybe it's just got something to do with the temperature sensor itself?

Oddly enough, you know, this rig is hardly what I would call quiet even though I tried to put in quiet fans and all the proper settings dialed in through the BIOS. One of my relatives has almost the same system and it's whisper-quiet. No clue why mine is so different by comparison.
