What's with the 18 pack bottles of budweiser/budlight now?

What's the reasoning beihind coming out with a 18 pack bottle of bud and bud light now? There's already a 20 pack bottle. What difference does having 2 less make? Is 18 a more desireable number than 20?

I don't know if I've seen a 20 pack in a long time.. I see 30's, 24's and 18 packs of bottles/cans all the time but not really any 20's.

Wouldn't charging the same for an 18 as 20 mean less profit. I don't think I have ever seen the unit price higher for a larger number of beers. If it is who cares just buy the 18 pack.

Bottles - 12, 20 and now 18
Cans - 6, 12, 18, 30, 36

Um, lets say 20 bottles were 18 bucks.
Now lets say 18 bottles are 18 bucks.

Same revenue, less beer = more profit.

And since people are use to paying 18 bucks for beer, they wont notice a difference. Companies do this all the time and hardly anyone notcices, especially things like diapers, crackers, etc.

I've never understood why they have so many numbers. Like 15 pack. Does someone say "Man, a 12 pack almost gets me wasted, but I don't want to carry another 6 pack around..."

I've seen a couple 8 packs but they were small micro-brews

Likewise, though I have seen 8 packs. Think I've seen 15 as well. Neither are very common.
