I have learned a great deal from this forum and I also respect a lot of the knowledge the fellow members posess, what I cannot figure out is the tremendous amount of homosexual references made towards hardware and or companies. Don't get me wrong I am not one of the most liberal persons you will ever meet, i believe in same sex marriages and all that stuff (i could go on forever), but quite frankly i am disturbed by repeatedly seeing intelligent people refer to 3dfx as gay or rambus as a bunch of bleedin anal spelunkers or even that something is suck. If i have to hear one more time that Nvidia is run by a bunch of fudgepackers I think i am going to scream. i'll admit the last time i hurled the insult "your gay" was when i was in 3rd grade, and as i recall i wasn't allowed to drink my chocolate milk for that comment either. So c'mon everyone lets grow up a little bit.

Well gay hasn't always meant homosexal. The meaning changed to imply homosexual in some instances. It would seem the meaning is changing yet again to imply negativity such as the word "suck" now does. Live with it.

These words no longer have the connotation to many people that they have to you. So, someone could say to you "Get with the times", but that would be rude. "fudgpackers", however, is a blatantly sexual reference, with no excuse.

Exactly.
Times have changed, we all have to make the necessary adjustments, you don't have to, but it would help to just accept it and live life.

Just to clarify, I don't think "is suck" has anything directly to do with homosexuality

...unless you really want it to, of course

Sorry guys, I just assumed you were more intelligent, I suppose I was wrong. While other generations had cool words like gnarly, bogus, maybe even groovy. Its sad to think all this generation offered "gay" "homo" and "is suck"

I object to your reasoning.

You are judging our generation by just a few people who post on this forum that refer to some people as "fudgepackers" or homosexuals. I don't like it either! It's crude and wrong. But the fact that I've accepted it, and saw it repeatedly, I've just learnt to look at it, and ignore it.

You're almost racist to this board, you could say.

What if we said 3dfx was "bogus" I'm sure that was evil in the 60's!

Don't let it get to you.

Your right, the point I was making I guess isn't that it was getting to me. Its just that i never would have expected this kind of stuff from a bunch of intelligent people like yourselves. I guess i cannot complain though, you could be making star wars or star trek references instead, dear god i couldn't take that.

At the risk of calling someone an idiot...(I will maintain).

Please.... "IS SUCK" came from a coined phrase we got from a guy who always screwed up his spelling. One day he misspelled a phrase in one of his post. He typed "IS SUCK"... from then on we all made fun of him and coined the phrase. Now when you see "IS SUCK".... you know how it was started. (Actually directed at STAPLES).

It has absolutely nothing to do with a gay guy polishing another gay guys nob. Damn! Some of you guys crack me up!!! LOL!

I can't take it..... really. What the heck has happened to people is right! This is really stupid to take offense to this kind of stuff.

IT IS NOT DIRECTED AT YOU...... or ANY OTHER GAY PERSON. It is just us here at ANAND.... using some really funny ass stuff!!!!! REALLY!

Yeah, just imply that he is gay. <sarcasm>I am sure he'll find that offensive.</sarcasm>

Though I did myself wonder, are you gay, Grminalac? If so, I can probably understand your being upset. I am trying to figure out if there are no gay people here, or maybe they just don't care.

Isn't that a contradiction? Whether you agree or not, most of the world thinks that homosexual actions (ie fudgepacking) are morally wrong.

Even the gay community uses common "homosexual references" to poke fun at itself. Take, for example the TV show will and grace. It's full of "homosexual references." I remember a movie a few years back called "Pricilla, Queen of the Desert." By your standards, that title is offensive. I suggest you go spend some time in West Hollywood to see what gay life is all about before becoming a crusader against homophobia and maybe take a chill pill in the meantime.

That is true, I have heard the words 'i love you' and 'queen' used more by a friend of mine who is gay than any straight guys.

I guess it is like the word great person, it is offensive based on who says it.

One of my homosexual friends just said a couple of weeks ago that hearing "this is gay" is not really offensive to him anymore, because it seems to be just part of the vocabulary now, and a lot of times it is used without a homosexual reference.
As for "fudgepacker", I'm sure any gay person would take offense to that.

i never said i was offended, it has nothing to do with being pc. Quite frankly I could care less how any of you lead your life... i am here to read about hardware, to get technical support and to hear technical items of interest. It just makes me wonder as to the fixation many of you have on the sexual preference of a corporate entity.

I sorry... I am still falling off my chair laughing.

You guys/gals.... are not serious are you?

I think the members have gotten way too soft.... you all need Perknose to pop in one day and teach you meaning of abuse, carnage, and give you a real reason to cry.

Cybordolphin is suck. (Don't take offense. )

Oh, and i love you can mean different things. Isn't a cigarette referred to as a i love you in Europe? And....isn't a lovely human a bundle or something like that? (I could definitely be wrong. So...if I am....correct me.)

I can just see the headlines of tommorrows business section.
Intel tells rambus, "your gay"
rambus responds, "well your a bunch of homos"

I enjoy reading (for short intervals) the sarchastic hardware website that pokes fun at people like yourselves; the webmaster calls people fagits and talks like a 4 year old its great.
