Going to grad school and being among the oldest people in the class.
Starting to lose my hair at 20 was a bit of a kicker too. Now I just shave it and finding/buying new expensive ($100+) hair clippers to use on my head is now a hobby.
If I need something from you, I don't care if you're two or twenty years older than me or I hate your guts, I'll still "yes ma'am" (or sir). That's the one self-imposed rule I've stuck with since forever and it's generally worked out well.
You should be happy that he had the courtesy to call you "ma'am" lol... kids are bigger assholes today than I remember being when I was their age.
30 is just a really weird age. 10 years younger than you and and you still have kids that aren't old enough to drink yet. 10 years older and you have people could potentially be grandparents, or at the very least kids in high school and getting ready to pay for college.
It's a weird time where girls 10 years younger than you really look like jailbait and those 10 years older than you don't look nearly as old and gross as they did 10 years ago
I'm 34 right now and I'm right on the edge of the cutoff of being "an old guy" in my basketball league. I never was very fast, so I can't say that's failing. But my conditioning is still better than many of the 25 year olds that step out on the floor. I pay for it the next day though. Knees are roughed up and I'm a pretty sore after doing 2+ hours of full court ball. Takes me two full days before I really feel like doing it again.
As for the turning point on what made me feel old? Probably when I started going to bed at 10:00PM on a Friday/Saturday night instead of staying up and messing around with video games, drinking, movies, ect. Oh, and when I take a PTO day now for work it's not to go golfing or play the latest video game. It's to do yard work or some other project around the house.
You're a basketball junkie as well. Lol. I'm 31 and I feel fine playing days on end. Probably after 3 days straight I feel fatigue. No pain. Really will miss basketball when I'm old. Most everything you can still do for a long time but basketball is one of those I know doesn't last.
knowing i am responsible for another person. I will be the main one to shape and mold them into what kind of person they will be. the realization that its no longer about me.

32 here, and still feel like a kid. I spent yesterday chasing my 8 year old up and down the street. He was on his bike with a lightsaber and I was on his razor scooter with a lightsaber. I bit it a couple times but was hella fun. I'm more responsible than in the past, but I feel younger and healthier than ever. I'm not too old to play toys with the kid. I'll get on the floor and have some crazy g.i. joe/transformer battles with him. I can still make machine gun sounds like the best of 'em.
when the music you used to listen to suddenly shows up on tv commercials for best of songs.. that's when i felt old.
When the high school girls started looking young.
