Three for threeFucking around on the internet. If the weather's reasonable, I like cutting wood and hiking.

Thoughts/suggestions/brands. My normal is biking/elliptical but I've been thinking about roller blades for something different. Knees can't take much lateral abuse like racket sports. Running is out too.Family of four has been into rollerblading this past year. We go to a local rink.
Like @Exterous excessive vacation habit?Collecting photos of other people's excessive collection habits. Like Legos and comic books.
Don't know much about rollerblading, but it seems like it could be a problem for bad knees. If it's anything like four wheel skates, you have a lot of twisty motion to get yourself going, and wrecks/collapses could do a number on your knees.Thoughts/suggestions/brands. Rollerblading is MUCH easier than regular skates. Skate have 4 independent axis and blades are, well, blades. I have a shot knee (PCL graft) and still blade as its good exercise for my knee. 52 yrs old.Don't know much about rollerblading, but it seems like it could be a problem for bad knees. 54 y.o., acl reconstruction and torn cartilage X 2 by 1985. I'm pretty happy to be able to do the cardio that I can now. Just started with some swelling after a Saturday of yard work...crap.Rollerblading is MUCH easier than regular skates. Skate have 4 independent axis and blades are, well, blades. Outside for sure. Do they still have the "brake" on the back so you have to 1 leg squat to use it? Might not be able to handle much of that. I would guess wrist braces are a must...I bought basic blade runner by rollerblades for me and my wife, and younger son, older son go a pair of lenexa
If I had been into it sooner, and in the future, I will invest in a quality pair of hockey style blades. Tour seems to be a good go to brand, of course I want their $300 pair.
Since we are indoor, we got softer wheels, if you plan on going outdoor get harder outdoor wheels. If you're a noobie, stick with the stock bearings, and upgrade once you are confirmable with the speeds you're doing
