I'm not sure where it peaked at today in central Louisiana, maybe something like:

74 F dew point
Lots of people getting hit right now by this wave of heat/humidity. Some of these relative humidities don't sound that impressive at 38-50%, but then you consider that it's also 95-100 F in a lot of places. That's actually a lot of moisture in the air, more than air that's 70-75 F with 100% relative humidity.
Dew points in the mid 70's and above are just gross. And, at least down here, that humidity doesn't go anywhere at night. In the middle of the night, you're still sitting here with dew point in the low 70's, which means temperature won't go lower than that, and you end up with 75 F at 95% humidity at 3AM. That's the worst part, even in the dead of night, you don't get a break from that stickiness.
