The object was to see who could touch Finny the most number of times without being bitten. Trick was to put your arm in the tank behind the fish and tap him on the tail and pull your arm out before he manages to turn around.

LOL! I doubt he was big enough to even take off your finger, let alone your hand+arm.. if they were playing that game with it.
