Nowadays I don't work, and my commute to school is about 4 miles one way, but before I got hurt, I was commuting into the S.F. Bay area daily. Depending on the jobsite, it could have been 75 miles one way, or up to 125 miles one way. (those jobs sucked for me) The last job was 97 miles from my front door to the jobsite parking lot. In the morning, it took about 1:30-1:45 to get to work, (I left home by 0400 every day, ) but in the evening, the drive was usually 2:15 to 3:30 depending on weather, accidents, etc.
While I miss the work I did (for more than 30 years), I certainly don't miss the commute, and nowadays, if I have to make the trip to the bay area, it seems like it takes forever...
