Dos Equis or Tecate

Being from the South, I think of ANY liquid as a way to cool off or be refreshed so I guess that's why I always gravitate to the lighter-tasting Mexican beers if they're available. Corona's good too. Personally, I couldn't care less for Guiness, Hoegaarden and all the 'real' beers of that ilk. Any beverage that that's thick-tasting or has to be served at room temperature or above (red wines, coffee, etc) just doesn't compute with what my body expects from a liquid.

Oh yeah...Jupiler and Orval...think I tried those a time or two.

There was, however, an AWFUL beer I had one time. But, it was in Maastricht. It was some kind of Strawberry beer.

BLECH!

we all know that Dutch beer sucks (especially Heineken -- BLECH)

I like some of the fruit beers. I'm a big fan of Kriek (cherry beer).

mmmmmmmmm

That's it - Stille Nacht. Maybe it was just an old bottle. I have the recipe for that one too but I think I'll pass on making it. A co-worker is over there right now and going to pick me up some glasses. Chimay, Kuak...some that I can't get here. While I can enjoy a Belgian ale occasionally, I prefer the true English or Irish ales more than anything.

I tried a "Silent Night" (english translation) - something "Nacht" and it was not good. I paid $5 american for one 11 oz bottle and couldn't even finish it. But I have the recipe for Chimay Grand Reserve and have 5 gallons waiting for Thanksgiving. It tastes great even before it's ready.

I love Gulden Draak and Rochefort, made a clone of the Rochefort a few months ago mmmmmmm

Dos Equis and Tecate are both respectable light lagers. The myth that Guiness should be served at room temperature is just that. Even the Irish drink it cold. Some Belgian ales are an aquired taste seperate from most other beers. A Belgian wheat or white would be a good introduction to Belgian ales for you.

I'm not much of a drinker but I see everyone raving about Guiness... what does it taste like? I'm not gonna drink to get drunk, but I'll drink if it tastes good.

Most "big company" lite beers I've had are nasty I think..very little taste, watered down, I guess. I don't know. I almost threw up trying Yeungling. blech.

So many to name. On a casual night, Coronas rock my world. Sam Adams Summer Ale owns, Guinness (icy cold and from the bottle)

I also had a beer in Montreal that really stands out in my mind, Cheval Blanc (sp?) that was a really nice tasting beer.

:beer::beer:

Finally, someone who knows what he's talking about!

The computer Im on right now is named Grimbergen
My workstation at work is Litovel, and the other computers in my living room are Duvel and Rochefort.

Ever tried Rochefort or Westmalle?
If not you should try to get hold of some, Westmalle Trippel is the best damn beer in the world, the stuff is expensive and deadly though.
Chimay is damn fine beer as well.

As for the Czech pils, maybe Staropramen or Urquell? Those two have got to be the most common Czech beers, though I think Litovel is better

Westmalle Trippel expensive???

I pay 1,03 euro for a Westmalle Trippel in the Food Lion

maybe you can buy them online on the link I provided and ship them to Sweden or the USA

Well, they've gotten cheaper now that Systembolaget(our beer&booze monopoly) sells them, they're only around 30 SEK(around $3,5) a bottle now.
Before, the only places I know that have them sold them at around $10 per bottle.

Damn...at 1 euro(around 9 SEK), I'd buy a crapload every damn day.
Maybe it's a good thing they're not that cheap

When I have money, favorite = black and tan (mmmmmmmm)
When I dont have money, favorite = Whatever is on sale (natty lite, keystone, hamms)

Wait a minute, what the hell am I saying. I love every beer ever made. I would drink mass quantities every night if it wasnt for this damn beer belly that has developed

For lager, Budweis/Budvar is suberb. Not Budweiser, american beers are like watered down urine. Most of them over here are either proper ales or something like 100% urine.

More usually I'd drink something like John Smiths, McEwans 80, Guiness... Have to be fussy where you get 80-shilling beers from though, especially the latter two there can be excellent in one pub and then crappy next door. Guess it has something to do with the cellar temp or how often the clean the pipes or whatever. In short fave beer varied from pub to pub
