Tobasco is an old standby, but I usually try to find something more interesting. Any suggestions?

Hot is good. Hot with flavor is even better.

YOu could try that new tabasco with garlic. I heard it's even better than the original.

When I was in Chile I picked a hot chili sauce that was served everywhere called Aji chileno. It's awsome

Cholula is ok. I get one called "Marie's" a lot of times that is good.

I used to get one called "Texas Champagne" that was tasty, but I never see it anymore.

I always keep a bottle or two of Crystal around. Less is more, when it comes to the ingredients: Cayenne peppers, vinegar, and salt.

My current favorite is Mezzetta Habanero Hot sauce. Twist & Shout, Baby! It's a tasty blend Chili and Habanero peppers, with plenty of spices.

No, I don't work for Mezzetta.

I'll use either Schlotzsky's Lousianna Ceyenne Pepper Sauce or Dat'l Do It Datil Pepper Sauce.

Yum.

I really like Texas Pete over Tobasco. It's the sauce I use for Shrimp & Grits.

Frank's Red Hot for wings.

I have Valentina and Tapatio to cover all my taco needs.

Texas Pete and Franks only get used if nothing else is available. With a little imagination, I can pretend it's hot sauce, and not just colored vinegar. Tabasco is the benchmark for Louisiana hot sauce, and if I could only have one, that would be it. Not my absolute favorite for every use, but it has versatility.

Costa Rica has some very nice sauces, especially using habanero. Those are my favorites for cheese and crackers. El Yucateco is good for burritos and stuff. It's also good on the chips the local Tex/Mex place puts on the table with salsa and ranch sauce. Dip the chip in ranch, and add a big dollop of El Yucateco for a cool/hot chip. I've almost killed full bottles at a sitting doing that :^D

Valentina is one of the best bargains. <$2/L at walmart. That's especially good on breakfast burritos.

We go through Valentina like crazy in my house. Particularly the black label version which is slightly spicier.

Tapatio is much better than Tabasco. Valentina is like a poor man's Tapatio.

I just saw this at the store for the first time the other day. I’m not usually big on lime but I’m intrigued.
it has a nice flavour and heat. Goes great on eggs and other random foods.

I am a bit of a hot sauce wuss so when I say it has some good heat I don't mean burn your tongue off heat.

Sriracha for an Asian flavor profile
Cholula or Tapatio for a Latin flavor profile

Damn, I think this thread is older than me...
sriracha (huy fong brand) is pretty good, but, IMO, too sweet for most things.

Cholula and Tapatio are pretty good for eggs in the morning...bur sriracha will also work.

It’s all good. For me there’s a time and place for scorching heat and then sometimes I want something that tastes good and just adds a bit of kick.
