I didn't like the black as much as the regular, but my partner likes it more.
I finally got around to trying the black label and I have to agree, it’s not as good as the others. I wouldn’t buy it again.

oooh garlic and scoville are a great match!!!!!I'm getting into some spicy garlic crisps on the Asian tip lately. Just amazing umami and texture along with the spice.
That definitely looks like something I'd like to try.
If that's the one with the fermented black beans in it's about as addictive as crack!
It's great if you like stir fries. Table spoon of crispy chillies in the oil before you start frying. There's been a bit of a buzz around chili crisp the last couple years. I'm interested, but when I see it in the store, I think "hmm... I wonder what I'd do with that?", I can't think of what I'd do with it, and I walk away.
Well, that makes it sound less appealing...If that's the one with the fermented black beans in it's about as addictive as crack!
It's not very hot but it's got a super savoury thing going on. It's pretty good!Well, that makes it sound less appealing...
I mean, if there's no detectable bean flavor left behind in the end result, it could still be good. It's not very hot but it's got a super savoury thing going on. It's pretty good!
Definitely doesn't taste like beans!I mean, if there's no detectable bean flavor left behind in the end result, it could still be good.
Yes the El Yucateco verde is especially good. For store bought it's gotta be El Yucateco green; amazing on meats, though absolute trash on eggs. For home made either a standard interior Mexican red sauce with arbol and pequin and then some tomatillo or a San Antonio style green sauce that's almost straight roasted serrano with some chicken stock. Of course assorted other flavors like onion and garlic in both of them too. Though I occasionally like to make a raw salsa called xnipec (Aztec for dog nose, since it makes your nose wet) with habanero, red onion, cilantro, tomato, and a little bit of Mexican orange soda and lime juice. I gotta learn a good avocado & tomatillo salsa since a great Mexican joint out here called Pollos Asados Los Nortenos serves one with its chickens.
@nakedfrog started a sugar paste thread, but I rescued it with hot sauce.Didn't we used to have a different chilli sauce thread? I'm sure I posted about chilli sauce before!
