I'll start off with the real popular ones, just in case you missed any. AAA stuff only:
Titanic, Terminator 2, Braveheart
The following are rather obscure, but can't be missed:
Shaolin Soccer (Chinese kung fu meets soccer, funniest movie ever)
Happy Times (Chinese human drama, a man lies and says he owns a hotel to impress a woman. The woman asks him to find a job as a masseur for his blind daughter. How far will he go to fool the girl and what will be the consequences?)
The Racoon Wars (Japanese, best animated movie ever, chock full of Japanese culture, excellent art and music, and nice story. Very charming)
Lagaan (Indian, story of a rag-tag group of villagers who challenge the local British occupiers to a game of Cricket, hoping to win a bet to avoid paying taxes. Over 3 hours long, has a few musical parts in it. No knowledge of cricket neccessary to enjoy this charming movie).
Strange Days (Sci-fi murder mystery concerning devices that allow one to "jack-in" to another person's memories to experience them for themselves)
The Hudsucker Proxy (Drama, takes place around 1950's I think, about a humble loser who is hired for the purpose of bringing down a companies stock value, but instead invents a device that will revolutionalize the time. Will he still be so humble? Very unique style. Stars tim burton and morgan freeman)
