q2 lithium mod. I loved the whole super-fast grappling hook thing. Added a whole new skillset to the game. Railgun or Rockets were always the only way to go.

After reading this thread, I just reinstalled quake2. I love that game so much. quake was good, but nothing beats quake2. The 1 vs. 1 skill of the deathmatch i still think hasnt been beaten. I remember its the first fps I went out and got headphones and actually required some skill in the deathmatch.

You cant beat the the combo of either hitting them with rail or rocket, then finishing them off with the chaingun. God I loved quake2.

Now I gota see if their are still servers up.

I miss Quake 3 Fortress so much, and WFA was pretty good too. This is all based off of Team Fortress Classic, which I disliked quite a bit actually. I think it plays much better on Q3.

I have played all three and I can honestly say Quake2 is the best.


Such a well made game. So much fun and so simple. The maps were awesome and the community for that game was rather big. I spend so many hours online playing just regular deathmatch and then went onto to the great mod for CTF and Arena. CTF was truely an awesome thing n Q2. Good competition..awesome little add ons like the grapling hook, great guns like the railing gun(whcih looks SOOO Much cooler in quake2 then in quake3..what were they thinking)

Quake1

Multiplayer was awesome. I actually set up a lan in house to play against my roommates. The best part was fragging someone, and stealing their backpack full of supplies after the kill.

Single player was fun, and the difficulty menu was really clever (remember the 3 portals, plus the secret "nightmare" entrance ).

Ah man the original TF. That was really a lot of fun even before they uprgraded to HL. I do remember 2fort and how overpowered the snipers were lol.

I voted two, but one was very good as well. Played 3 a lot, but it just wasn't quake, as far as I was concerned. Hoping Q4 is good, and not a flop like Doom 3.
