<< Tower and the Hive is a bit harder to get into than the others were (possibly because it attempts to tie up so many loose threads in the series), but it is very good, nonetheless. I really enjoyed Pegasus in Space - by far the best of the Earth-based set of books in the series.

Agreed, I liked Pegasus In Space the best of the Earth-based set as well. Not only did it tie up loose ends of the Pegasus series, it also did an excellent job bridging the gap between the Pegasus/Rowan series.

I'll cast another vote for Armor. It ranks up there with The Dark Tower series my favorite all-time books. I just personally don't put The Dark Tower series into the category of Sci Fi.

i started reading ender's game from the suggestions on this list and i must say i loved it too. but ender's SHADOW is a must read (only after reading ender's game, tho it is a parallel novel)

i also loved i,robot by asimov. go robots!!!!!

Smegging hell, I still need to get those books and read them. I have seen most of the T.V. series though, and the movie looks like it is shaping up well. Chris Barrie, AKA Arnold Rimmer, &quot;Ace&quot; Rimmer, etc., is playing Lara Croft's butler in the new Tomb Raider movie.

Well I just got back from the local library. Their selection wasn't the greatest, maybe I'll check the university's library later on.
I manged to find some of the books mentioned, or at least other books by some of the authors that have been mentioned.

Also I highly, highly recommend not only Ender's Game, but the entire Ender saga: Ender's Game, Speaker for the dead, Xenophobia, and Ender's Shadow.

What else have I read? Oh, the Rama series is pretty sweet too...

Also, If you are into fantasy, A Wizard of Earthsea is good by Ursula k Leguinn. You might think this is funny also, but I loved the Harry Potter books and I am 24 years old..=o)

This might sound kind of weird, but if you're into fantasy check out Elfquest. I know, I know, it's a comic book! But I picked up the collected volumes and couldn't put them down. It's a great story.
