I need a new one. I have been traditionally an Engadget fan but lately they have decided to push their political agenda and I am over it. (Yeah they are Apple lovers but so am I, so that wasn't an issue for me.) BGR is a joke. I'm trying to get used to Verge's page design as it is, well, busy but the content seems solid. What is your go to tech blog?

I don't frequent many blogs, just a few tech news sites. I also follow tech journalists, sites, and enthusiasts on Twitter, and listen to podcasts.

Their ICYMI video segment is awful too. I don't want to watch a video, I want to read what's going on, but they're shoving it down my throat when the video link takes up half the page.

The Verge is so full of whiny snowflakes. If their story might even have a hint of controversy, they turn off comments. If someone comments the truth and that doesn't work with their version of the article they published then that comment gets deleted.

Lately they've also resorted to a lot of Click-Baitey headlines. Nilay is an ass. Deiter is an ass but in a Minnesota Nice kinda way. Paul is generally great except he still has that aura of "I never left my parent's basement" and nobody lets him talk anyway.

I listen to the VergeCast from time to time, but their article writing is atrocious and agenda driven, shouldn't really expect much coming from Vox and all.

I've DM'd Nilay about all the political coverage, he said they didn't endorse anyone, but they've got writers talking about crying over the election in their articles. That combined without any objective testing in their reviews has gotten really old. I checked out one of their "journalists", turns out she works as a barista too, LOL.

What new sites do you use? I like podcasts as well. Listen to a lot of Twit along with a few others.

Yeah I mostly get my information from podcasts. Twit is good depending on the guest (some of the regulars are very annoying). All About Android is my favorite podcast in the Twit network. NPR's Marketplace Tech is pretty good, kinda like "normal people" tech news. StarTalk Radio is fun for sciency news and opinion. Daily Tech Headlines is good for something short (10 mins).

I used to listen to Tech News Today on TWIT when Tom Merritt was the host but when the new guy took over I just couldn't stand him at all. It went from a fun tech newsy source to "The evening news with Douchebag McSeriousvoice". I've tried to listen to Leo, used to watch way back in the zdnet days but he's gotten old and crotchety.

Engadget & Gizmodo. Engadget has been getting a bit weird lately tho, especially with NSFW tech-related content, which I don't appreciate in my feed at work, plus like boomhower mentioned, some political agenda stuff.

Gizmodo has grown up quite a bit in recent years & has some really excellent sections now like Sploid, iO9, etc., although Engadget is still my CNN for tech news.

Digital Trends, Wired, Fast Company, and a few others. Mostly I just visit them when there's an interesting story posted on Twitter. Sites like The Verge, Engadget, et al I only stumble upon when looking for reviews, I don't have them bookmarked or follow them.

I do listen to a fair number of tech podcasts (full list in podcast recommendation thread), including about half the TWiT ones. Good source of discussions on tech, in addition to news.
