My fav too.
It was king of the hill when it came out, (rare for ATI). It stayed on top for a while.
Its DirectX9b compliant which means it can play most stuff nowadays, although it may be missing some shine on certain textures at certain times.
Most importantly, it has the sheer raw processing power to play newer games at reduced settings.
I gave it up for a 7800GT, but damn, that was by far my most satisfying experience in computing.
EDIT: I know may fanboys of the Kyro 2 as well.
Shame we havent seen more third parties lately.
