UVa for undergrad Physics/Math double major Astronomy minor
MIT for Physics grad. Plan was for Ph.D in high energy, astro, or something. Never made up my mind because my disability finally got the better of me and I just couldn't hack it.

When did they start going to finer resolution that 10 pts on the GMAT? Or when did they stop?

I got 760 on mine almost 2 years ago now. Finishing up B-school now.

The GMAT is scored in 10pt increments. There has been an unfortunate amount of score-creep on the GMAT; Time was a 700 meant 97.5%, now the SD is about 120 instead of 100.

V has stayed the same, but Q is being destroyed by the newer test-takers.

I'm guessing some of that has to do with better prep; some of that has to do with internet-cheating. But most of it has to do with Asians and displaced financial analysis being great at math.

The V still has a median and a bell curve, but the 'curve' is so skewed on the math that it isn't even a curve any more.

1710 on SAT with all parts. I don't remember the individual scores and I don't feel like digging up my account to look. I went in and winged it, though now it seems like it was a waste of money, not only because I did not prepare for it, but because I also didn't end up using the results.

Isn't that what Stephen Hawking has? It didn't seem to hinder him in his studies. I do realize that there are different forms of muscular dystrophy though.

Yeah, I was mainly asking because there were a few GMAT posts with scores like 755 and 748.

I had Q49/V44 for 760 with a 6.0 AWA. I don't remember the percentiles I got exactly, but it was something like Q-85th/V-97th for 99th overall. I did a physics major so I thought I'd do much better on the math, but yeah, there is a TON of test takers from India and China now who skew the quant curve one way and the verbal the other.

I have no idea how anyone could cheat on that test though. Getting into the testing room, I had to go through more security than at a US airport.

I can't remember what I got on the SAT back in 2001, though I seem to recall it involving laughing and pointing. I do know that I did good on the verbal and crapped the math. Anything standardized involving math I tend to bomb out as I have a serious issue with transposing numbers or reading numbers/symbols that aren't really there. There's no matching the feeling of the teacher publicly making fun of you in math class because you read things that weren't there. Bit me pretty hard in calculus.

Verbal/written stuff I tend to fare better.

Any non-math test that isn't multiple choice I always get in the higher percentiles. In other words, I enjoy short answer/essay type questions. Multiple choice is hit or miss depending on the subject. Math I cross my fingers and hope for the best.

There is no such score for GMAT/SAT. I put it in my first post just to see how many people noticed it. I recently got a job application with an applicant putting something like that for his test score...
