Just want to point out that you really don't want to eat the type of meat used in a kebab cooked in the way a steak is cooked.

Agreed, but he seems to be saying that cut into chunks and cooked to hell kebab meat is superior to a medium rare high quality porterhouse.

I read it as the kebab meat needs to be cooked in a way to make it tasty and tender whereas with steak the method of cooking is fairly bland.

English food. Its just not very good for the most part.

I'm not much of a seafood fan honestly. Lobster is overrated IMO, a bucket of dog turds would probably taste good if you dunked them in butter. And its a pain in the ass to eat and the idea of cooking even a giant bug alive doesn't seem that humane to me. I like (good) scallops and stuffed fish a lot though.

I don't really care for fruit in a savory dish either, although sometimes it tastes alright.

I'm pretty sure I'd hate authentic Chinese food, at least the stuff with the most bizarre ingredients anyway. I'll stick with the fake Americanized stuff.

I don't know why people hate pot roasts and meatloafs on here, if you have a good one they're really good. You might hate them for the same reason I used to hate Shepard's Pie: You only had a crappy cafeteria version at a public school so you couldn't compare.

I love Tex Mex and Mexican food even though much of it is kind of simple. And French of course, I mean they are the best. Italian is good but I'm kind of meh to dislike on Tomatoes.

Those of you who say authentic Chinese is gross, obviously never had it. Try some chicken feet, Roast Pig, BBQ Pork, and Roast Duck first.

South African cooking can be incredibly nasty, at least the stuff that's based on English food.

I am thirding Ethiopian. Terrible food and terrible restaurants, at least here in Toronto.
A fourth for Ethiopian. I'm pretty sure I was served overcooked dog on a plate made out of wet bread. Then again, anyone expecting haute cuisine from a country that requires intervention by Sally Struthers to stop people starving to death in the streets is not using the rational part of their brain when making culinary decisions.

I will agree... although it is possible to do a good pot roast.
But that is not so much a cuisine as a lack of one, or simply the inability to cook.

You also missed the bad knockoffs of other types of cuisine that are part of it as well.

That stuff sounds more like British cooking

I'm not a fan of west coast food. Californians seem to over-complicate even the simplest foods.

Pot roasts, overcooked vegetables, and underseasoned everything.

what about casseroles? I'm from the South, but I fucking hate casseroles. Why do people assume the only way to cook anything is to press it all together in a dish and bake it?

The midwest version is the same, the only difference being 2 or 3 layers of cheese on the top.

oh no you didn't. Best chain restaurant ever. Lines out the door. 1.5 hr wait on a weeknight. PF Changs literally next door had no wait for a table of 9. And then we understood why.

For me, it has to be the cantonese/authentic chinese type food.

The stuff they eat is disgusting to me. I can probably eat their shrimp dumplings but anything else I'm not really a fan of.

Lumping Cantonese and authentic Chinese together shows just how informed you are with the food and the culture...

I bet you read something like "the people from Canton province can make food out of literally every body part." I've seen that before. If you go to HK it's not like you're going to find cat stew and dog steaks or whatever, most of the time it's ordinary cuts of meat that are just cooked differently. Doesn't mean you can't find less "typical" food (intestines, anyone?) but even those things are delicious. Go into a bakery and you'll come back out weighing 50 pounds more.

I'm not a fan of the food from Beijing. Bland and tasteless. Shanghai cuisine is awesome. HK (which includes Cantonese) is also awesome.

There's 2 levels and the 2nd level has no standing room left. It's probably more that they don't have enough wait staff, but the place is still packed full of people. What makes the food shitty?
