I have a friend with OCD and I couldn't begin to list all the things that he does. It nearly controls his life.
- Ketchup must be stored on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator door. Nowhere else.
- Inspecting each and every bite of restaurant food before eating it in case something looks amiss.
- Must park his car so one of the five spokes on the rims is pointing straight up. Sometimes this means getting out and looking two or three times before being satisfied.
Anyone who parks their car, gets out and looks at the spokes of his wheels, then possibly reparks his car due to where they are pointing has WAY too much free time in his life.
Hence the term Obcessive Compulsive Disorder
The ketchup thing is an OCD you can talk to a psychologist about.
The car parking thing might require a team.

The reason for the ketchup having to be on the lower shelf of the refrigerator door is to keep it as far as possible from the milk. Apparently, there is potential contamination of the milk which could result from them being too close.
I once asked him why none of the other items in the refrigerator were dangerous to the milk, and he just laughed and said he knows it's stupid, but the ketchup just has to be far away from the milk.
With these types of things, there's no way to explain it. It's a compulsion, and makes no sense.

I have OCD, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I had to learn to overcome my brain's deception and follow my heart instead. Everyone's senses deceive them, they just don't know it. My environment molded me into a nervous basketcase, but my "mental illness" wouldn't let me stop doubting the validity of the "real world", which turned out to be a huge conditioning center where the human race is bound by their own "knowledge".

How do you know the guy in the straight jacket is really insane? What if he is sane and everyone else on the planet is insane?
