And how many people are you buying for?

I average $400/month for me and little rudeguy. I'm trying to get that down but that kid eats like a horse.

What about you all?

Prob 500 but that's because it's all fresh and nothing we eat is processed trash. This is for 2. Oh and this is in new england which has some of the highest food costs

At least $500 a month for me, the wife, and our 3 kids. And we don't buy anything really good, at all....because we can't obviously. *sigh*

Too much. When I got my new job in February I stopped shopping at the grocery and haven't made food at home since.

$350-500 per month for one person.

I cook a lot and only buy certain generic items. I usually grab what I want and don't look at the price tags.

I budget $700/mo(groceries/dining out combined) for me and my wife, but the actual numbers come out to be $971:

$426/mo for groceries(mostly costco & sam's club)
$400/mo for dining out
$47/mo for work lunch
$44/mo for fast food
$39/mo for coffee shops

the rest are miscellaneous. The last few months were higher than normal because my wife was pregnant and we figured we should get all the fine dining out of the way.

We have never budgeted food. Food is something I enjoy alot as does my wife . Food has always come first . Bills second and other pleasures of the Flesh(SOUL) last . We been lucky as to where we were born. Pure luck. Myself and my wife have never gone without what WE NEED. and have never been late on a payment. Ya I have had a good life and I am thankful for it . But that doesn't mean I don't see the reality of the world. I from a poor village yet I feel likely better than does Gates. A good life with all my wants and needs fulfilled.

Never really tracked what I spend but I'd guess probably 500ish for me and the wife including dining out.

About $300 for one person, including grocery and dining out. Trying to get it down to 250 and eliminate dining out completely

Family of 5 + 3 pets, about $1000/month, but that's been under upward pressure lately, because everything is so damn expensive.

No idea, we don't budget.
If I were to guess, probably 500 on food/300 eating out/100 on liquor

Fast food (usually Chick Fil A or Wendy's) about 11 times/week. The average is $8. That's roughly $350/mo.
Takeout 1 time/week. The average is $20. That's roughly $80/mo.
Grocery store about 1 medium/big time per week that averages $130. That's about $520/mo.
Grocery store 1 small time/week. Averages about $20. That's about $80/mo.
Whole Foods 1 time per month. About $100 plus or minus about $15 spent there each month.
So about $1.13k/mo for 3 people. About 40% of what I get is on drinks.

Yeah, I have two teens, so we're in the $600-$700 range....and that's just groceries. The problem with kids today is they don't like all of the cost savers our parents got away with.

I used to love .99/lb. bologna. They will only eat turkey breast (not that processed turkey either...they need the expensive stuff).

I used to eat American cheese. They only like colby, cheddar, or munster.

I used to eat Campbells soup (in fact, Alphabet soup with a bunch of crushed up crackers is still one of my favorite lunches ). They only like Progresso or Chunky soups...3x as expensive and 1/2 the servings.

The list goes on and on. Can't wait until they have to pay for their own food

I'm not saying you're a bad parent by saying this but you are the parent. They have to eat what you buy or not eat, at least that's how it was in my house. I actually prefer your menu to theirs honestly. ^_^

I don't budget. All I know is I have enough money to pay for my mortgage and HOA. Since I rarely drive anymore, I don't budget for gas. Ok fine, I buy $200 worth of food from Costco every month.

I budget $200 for groceries, $100 for eating out and $20 for fast food each month. I usually come in under that amount. The eating out varies depending on how much I'm dating because that buys for two often.

Mommy and daddy make and/or pay for my food, but I'd estimate $300. In-N-Out makes up a significant portion of that.
