What's your morning routine?

I've just been told by my co-workers that my morning routine is "odd". I've done this for years though, and it seems to keep me in shape:

1) wake up around 6:45am
2) get out of bed, do 50 arm stretches, 50 squats, 50 pushups, and 50 inclined pushups
3) take a multi-vitamin
3) take shower/shave/brush teeth/etc
4) get dressed
5) go to work

The only breakfast I eat is a handful of nuts/berries/or maybe a yogurt for some protein, then I eat a normal lunch and dinner. I workout before eating so my body will burn fat stores instead of calories, and have had pretty good luck with my goal of keeping my chest bigger than my stomach

I had to LOL at one person chastising me for skipping breakfast as "not being healthy", while he's one of those guys that has to spread his legs while sitting so his stomach can hang between them.

Sooooo....how do you start your day?

lay in bed, scratch for 30 minutes, go poo in toilet (i always poo exactly 30 minutes after waking up).

scrub face with water and maybe soap. maybe shave, or at least trim to stubble.

get dressed, sprinkle underpants with body powder, usually body powder on underarms, or at least stick deodorant.

vitamins and green tea and yohimbe.

yogurt or fruit, loads of water.

pack pockets full of daily junk (phone, wallet, keys, knife)

leave house.

I usually have some sort of caffeine at school, not at home.

oh, on a good day I am down at 9 and up at 5.

Wife's phone alarm goes off at 5:15 and repeats every 10 minutes until 5:45. I am then awake the first time and don't fall back asleep and am in a crabby mood already.

Out of bed at 6:10 when the main bathroom is available.
Shower/shave/brush teeth
Get dressed
Pester child to wake up
Go downstairs and make lunch
Eventually leave the house between 6:45 and 7:00 depending on how slow my wife and child are.
Drop child off at parents house (all of 9 houses down the road).
Drive to work with wife (15 minute drive of which we argue about what music to listen to).
Get to my desk and add kashi go lean crunch to my fage fruyo yogurt (make one for wife too).
Walk past wife's desk, give her bfast, and then proceed to office kitchen for water and coffee.

Then I act busy and read the intarweb all day long. I'll occasionally stop by my wife's desk to annoy her since she is busy and doesn't have time for my being annoying (payback for the alarm bullshit and for complaining about the music on the drive in).

Woke up, got out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat

I can't exercise in the morning, I wish I could (damn snooze button). All I do is shower, shave, brush, get dressed, eat yogurt and run out the door.

Regarding the morning Multivitamins--I've read that taking them without any food doesn't allow it to absorb...although that might be a good thing since some studies have come out stating that absorbing unbalanced and excessive amounts of vitamins (i.e. multi's with 3000% of x vitamin) can increase your chance of cancer.

But that's a whole different subject that IIRC ATHF already has a thread going about.

more power to you, I wish I had that kind of discipline... I'm not a morning person, though.

-sleep as late as humanly possible
-wake up (after hitting the snooze button on my alarm clock for ~30 minutes)
-rush into the bathroom to pee, brush my teeth, and shower (in that order)
-throw on the first clean clothes I find
-run out the door and get to work 15-20 minutes late

5:00am:

Study

6:00am:
Roll to work

I don't know why, but I feel awesome waking up at four in the morning and I'm groggy if I get up later. Like if I sleep in until six, I drag all day. I don't know why. Same thing with going to bed - if I go to bed at 8:30pm, I can fall asleep in minutes, otherwise it can take forever. And I wake up feeling great with lots of energy if I nail those times. Something about circadian rhythms and sleep windows and blah blah blah. I fought it for a long time because I really like staying up late. And depending on my work schedule, sometimes I'm up til 11pm anyway.

That was going to be my answer, which is pretty damn close.

1) Wake-up ~5:00AM
2) Shower unless done night before
3) Shave
4) Toss on Suit + Tie or Business Casual depending on how many times I snoozed
5) Go downstairs, pack lunch, be out the door by ~6:15
6) At work by 6:30 - 7:00, depending on traffic.

I hate mornings, I don't like ritual wake-ups of pouring cups of coffee and shit. I want to get the fuck up and go. If I want coffee it can wait till I'm at work.

I will NEVER understand women (and some men) who get up and take 2 hours to get ready. All of that is what was wasted sleep time every day, which is wasted work time, which gets you home later.

I take MegaMen Health & Digestive- it has a lot of B vitamins for energy and some stuff to help with my stomach (I have severe acid reflux and these seem to help supplement my lansoprazole I take daily). I definitely feel drained in the morning if I stop taking them for a few days.
