I also try to match things...like it I step on a crunchy leaf with my right foot I will go out of my way to crunch one with my left foot. I can't tell you how many OCD things I do related to the last one...there are many. Sometimes I'll realize I'm doing it and stop. Yeah, I'm messed up...

What is it about OCD? I know for a fact that I do many things that are OCD but haven't really checked into the psychology of it.

i do the thing.

Also, i repeat this stupid figure in my head. Line-by-line i make a square and make an X in the middle without going over another line. It's impossible but I just keep doing it.

I compulsively bite my nails until they hurt, almost every day. I compulsively rub my hands together at high speeds for no reason when nobody is looking. I type things in mid-air when I'm not occupied - license plates on the freeway, words on a sign, or even worse I'll type the various brand names I see around my living room and even the vents and light sockets - they don't have words, but I type a capital I for every vertical mark (like a prong on a socket) and a hiphen for every horizontal mark (like the screws in the faceplates).

Upon reaching our destination I love to tell passengers in my car to "get out'. I just like saying get out.

Organization is mine.
I have to do things a certain order or put them in exact places otherwise it agitates me.

Oh, another one of mine is probably less strange, but I have to have a good song playing before I can leave the room. Meaning, I will sift through my music on random until a song I like comes on, then I'll leave the room. I'll never just pause it or pick one myself.

I can't start driving until I have some decent music going. Although this is mostly to keep myself from messing with tapes/CDs while I'm driving.

I check several times to make sure my keys are still in my pocket/purse. I need to feel that they're there.

Most of mine are obsessions, not so much compulsions.
Look up Pure-O OCD.
I have most of the textbook Pure-O obsessions.

My most OCD behavior would probably be touching all of my fingers, if I touch one of them.

I wonder how many calories you have saved over the years with this particular habit. Probably a good few pounds worth.

Oh boy, here we go.

I order the bills in my wallet by denomination and condition. Crisp 20, beat up 20, crisp 10, beat up 10, ectera. I also unfold all the corners of the bill.

I line things up and make sure they're parallel to each other. I also make sure things are exactly centered on a desk.

When I put things away in my desk drawer, they must be lined up as well.

If I'm eating M&M's or any other multi-colored candy, if there's too many of one color I eat that color until there's an even number and then eat one from each color until they're gone.

When I'm packing something up to be shipped, the tape has to be exactly centered on the box/padded envelope.

I also count the amount of letters in words and how many syllabales too.

I guess this could be considered OCD, but when people mispronounce words it bugs me. Strength as "strenth" or accurate as "akurit." Drives me nuts.

Cleaning smudges/marks on glass. The glass must be clean, those little streaks that you can only see at certain angles drives me insane.

I used to count my steps, but haven't done that in a long time.

Stacks of paper, all the sheets must be lined up on all sides.

There's probably something I'm forgetting which is amusing when you think about it. An OCD-ish person forgetting their neuroses.

I count number presses to type a word in a text message (i.e., 4 presses for S, 3 for C, etc.) to the point that I will spell out nonsense words spelled in orders like 4-3-2-1. pr 4-4-3-3-2-2-1-1. The word doesn't *count* if any one button is presses for more than one letter (no words with R and P). I also find words that have the amount of presses needed being symmetric along an axis on the keypad, such as the 3-6-9 axis, or the 2-5-8 axis. Extra points if the word is alternating cons-vowel-cons-vowel-cons. Words CANNOT end or begin with a vowel, or I get annoyed. It's a good thing if I can move from one button to the other while spelling a word by only moving horizontally or vertically (like moving from the 9 to 7 to 8 to 5 keys, as opposed to moving from 3 to 6 to 7)

The weirdest part is my cell phone isn't even like that, I have a full keyboard

I do this sometimes as well. I HATE public restrooms. I think it goes back to a place I worked at a few years ago. They had the worst restrooms I've ever been in. They employed a lot of blind/disabled people, and there was urine, etc... all over the floors all the time. It got to the point that I had a special pair of shoes that I wore to work, because I didn't want to bring that mess home.

It was nasty, and the reason I ultimately left. However I think its had a lasting effect on me, because I never thought about public restrooms before that job.

OCD is called a "disorder" for a reason. people tend to call any sort of slightly obsessive behavior OCD but that's just ignorant.

I also do the shower curtain thing. Something I've done for the last several years I comb my hair around my ears/glasses/headphones constantly. The hair has to be perfectly straight, split around the ear symmetrically (except for the hair that just goes out to cover my ear). If there is even a single hair between my glasses and my head or between my earphone wires and head I have to use my fine comb to get them out.

I'm constantly moving my keyboard to make sure it is parallel and centered in relation to my monitor, and moving my speakers to be 1/4" away from the side of my monitor, flush with the face of the monitor, and pointed directly at my ears.

When I'm rocking out to a song I really like, I will listen to the first 30seconds/first verse or so (usually the words I know best) while singing along, restarting it when the chorus comes until I can get the entire first bit down to every exact nuance in the singers voice (although I'm crappy in comparison)

I recently went through my entire 30gb mp3 library renaming each song from 03-XXXX to 03 - XXXX

The cell phone thing I mentioned above isn't something I do from time to time, I do it near endlessly. For example, I did it for almost 7 hours today driving back from San Antonio

I'll remember more later

Oh yeah, I just thought of a few more.

My undershirt has to show evenly around all sides of the neckline on my t shirt. I'm always checking to make sure it's even, drives me insane.
Also, I have to turn my radio on and off 3 times before I go to bed (I have no idea where this came from).
My cellphone has to be completely clean before I go to sleep (looks brand new!)
Last one I can think of for now is that when I turn a light off (only in my house), my eyes have to be shut before I turn it off (Why? Hell if I know)

I used to do something weird with light switches too, but made myself quit. I used to turn my bathroom light off, then back on, then off again when I left the room.

I make myself gag while brushing my tongue. I don't have to do it, but it just doesn't feel right if I don't.
