What's your most overrated movie

Now I know people here, and I know that it's pretty hard to follow directions for the ATOT crowd. So I'll use small words. What's to you the most overrated movie. I don't mean the one you hate the most. I mean the one that everyone else you know loves, but you think doesn't live up to the hype.

Mine ... Fight Club. I don't dislike it, I'll watch it if it happens to be on tv. But I don't think it's that great really.

The original Star Wars movies: like some of the "great books" you have to place them in historical context to see why they aren't overrated.

Yes, they're basically a mix of Lucas' favorite Samurai, Western and WW2 movies plus some Flash Gordon, but for their time:
- they introduced the "used future" look into future SF. Pretty much everything else up until then had the future being shiny, spotlessly clean plastic, metal & glass.
- they brought speed and action to SF, in contrast to the dreamy, slow classic view of movies like 2001
- they were a good mix of a bunch of fantasy and SF cliches. Samurai in space vs. cowboys with blasters. The Reeses peanut butter cup movies of their era.

Donnie Darko. It is a pretty good movie, but it has this extreme cult following and it ends up on tons of favorite lists. I didn't think it was that good.

I don't think it's a bad movie or anything, but it really boggles my mind that it's the #1 ranked movie at IMDB; I've always felt like it was a generic, unmemorable "feel good movie."

and I always hated how they changed it from the book, where it was heavily implied that he was guilty, to an innocent angel in the movie.

Lots of T&A, but the COMPLETELY unnecessary use of 'time jumping' is stupid. It's like the director decided "heh, all those good movies have scene/character switching and intersecting story arcs, so lets do that too!".

All that movie shows is that if you start out as a thug, you'll end as a thug. Wealth, power, nothing can change that. Once a thug, always a thug.

And honorable mention: The Life Aquatic. Was strongly recommended by friends. Failed to live up to the hype.
