whats your opinion on the OCZ PC3000 ddr ram?
Is it the best ram to get for overclocking an Abit KR7A Raid?
Or is their something better out there?

You might want to do some real good research before gettin' it. I got one from Newegg and ended up returning it, it didn't work with my P4B266, don't know if it's just a bad dimm or what. OCZ doesn't do a lot of testing on their RAM's with different boards, you might want to email them or ask around about your particular board.

I tried a module of the stuff in a MSI 645 Ultra with the same rather consertive memory settings I was using with some PC 2100 Crucial memory and the system blue screened on boot up. It started working(no blue screen) once timings were backed down to the Normal setting. I could not increase the memory frequency above what the Crucial was running at so I traded it for some Kingmax PC 2700 and the difference was like day and night as the Kingmax allowed running a DDR memory frequency up to 366MHz with Ultra timings.

It seems that the OCZ works well in the Iwill XP-333, reportedly allowing most to use a 166MHz+ FBS, but it didin't work for my 645 Ultra.

I would highly recommend staying away from OCZ memory. It seems that the chance of getting a good OCZ RAM stick is in the same ballpark as getting eaten alive by a chihuaua. If you want to read all of the horror stories, just do a search for OCZ at the HardOCP forum. I wonder why such a reputable vendor such as Newegg sells that BS, but it is a waste of money and time. Instead try the Kingmax 5ns TinyBGA PC2700 RAM, that stuff is great. Good luck in any case.

After reading the forums at www.overclockers.com alot of people seem to prefer the Kingmax PC2700 (it uses TinyBGA packaging so it runs cooler than any other brand). Ive heard many stories of the OCZ not performing to what its rated at.

I got some of the KingMax DDR333. Awesome stuff ..currently running 178 bus on my Epox EP-4SDA+ @ 2.5 FAST. My Sandra scores blow out of the water the RDram scores in the latest Sandra Benchmark.

OCZ has always been disappointing for me with many times the results ending up being far less than a stick of Crucial 2100. Kingmax is very good but, the best, most stable ram I have installed for O/C'ing is the Mushkin 2700 sticks that come with attached silver heat spreaders. Very sweet stuff!

I've got 2 sticks of Mushkin PC2400 (2.5-2-2 I think), which is doing 173mhz@2-2-2.
For this I'm in dilemma. At 173mhz memory speed I can only run CPU at around 2.1Ghz, but my cpu can do 2.4Ghz@1.55v no sweat.
which one should I choose?

No problems with OCZ here... nada. but I dont have the PC3000. Personally, Im gunna wait for something that will run at CL2 on the new 333 boards.
