I vote to test the system. My precinct is overwhelmingly populated by people who vote wrong on just about every issue. So I vote correctly and then check the precinct results. If there is not at least one enlightened vote cast then I know the election process has been corrupted.

If you feel mischievous or a poll worker annoys you in some way, check out their name tag and use that as the write-in candidate. The poor worker will have to fill out an affidavit swearing they didn't tamper with your ballot.

You should at least write in someone you believe in. Not voting is bad IMO, but if that's your decision then go for it.

but the load of measures/propositions that come up every election round in cali are a different thing. lots of shens to vote against

I don't understand the argument about not voting in the presidential because "it won't matter", but thinking your vote in measures/props do..they'll both have the exact same impact--0.

Unless you live in a state of 10 people.
