Blah, you're correct

I thought that 120/80 was supposed to be the norm, but apparently it's the upper bound of normal. Ugh, at least it's lower than it was a year ago.
Would like for the MDs to stop changing things. Remember when 220 was the top on cholesterol.

Hell, Pluto was a planet when I was a kid.

Ha, no wonder I thought I was good, up until 2003 I was well within the normal range but apparently now I'm on the border.

Oh well, more motivation to keep exercising.

Doubt it, he probably would have a heart attack or stroke before that. Clogged arteries don't always show up on your vitals.

Well ... I do work out pretty regularly.
When I was in high school on the swim team, (doing 6000 yards 6 days a week and weight training 3 days per week, I was the thinnest I had ever been at 250 with a 36 inch waist) ... it's been 12 years since then .. and my waist has jumped up to 44 .... I just don't burn the 5000+ calories every day like I used to ... It's difficult, but I have cut down my consumption (no pop, no fries, less cheeseburgers, less bacon, no cookies/cake) .... But I still overeat ... as I just never seem to get "full"

Fat doesn't automatically mean "person has horrible health."

Force yourself to cut down to what you "should" be eating according to your lifestyle, eventually that feeling goes away, assuming you are eating a balanced variety of good stuffs.

Yea, that's what I've been trying to do ... I want to get back down to 250 again.... I've cut down by about 500 calories per day, as well as increased my workouts.... just tryin to drop 1 pound per week

Hopefully I will get my resting heart rate down to 60 flat ...

This is absoluty true. We had a guy who wrestled HW with me in HS, he started I didnt anyway we called him Merc after the planet mercury because he looked like it. Red hair, red skin, freckles and about 5'9 260 seemingly tub of lard. Round like Mercury. That shit did not stop him from rolling 3 hour practices in our 105F coach controlled environment or from finishing 2nd in state. Merc was a cardio monster and strong as fuck. Could bench like 415 8x and tie me in a knot easy.

PS we used to go to pizza hut buffet and eat literally 4-5 pizzas a piece...those were the days I didn't gain weight no matter what at that time...

Just start running. Zone 4 on HRM for 45 min with a 10 min cool down 6x a week. I went from 320 to my current weight of 245 in 8 months. I was way more out of shape than you are so I could not even run at first. Had to run a little then walk a little then run a little the walk again until 45 min of hell of was over. After about a month I could run whole time. Then it got fun, well sorta, lets call it funner. HRM is to prevent you from having a heart attack, especially important for former athletes who's minds are used to ignoring pain and will kill themselves starting too fast or going too hard. You should not need to diet at all. Stomach shrinks. Big bodies expend major energy on the track relative. And it curbs appetite for trash when you leave grease filled tacos on track next day.

You should really consider those stomach stapling surgeries then.

Fat doesn't automatically mean you are unhealthy but at 300lbs & fat, it almost certainly does.

fvck that ... I'm fat, but not ginormously obese .... I'm 6'2", and just need to limit my intake better ...

I gained that extra 50 pounds after dropping out of college in 00, working in an office, and playing too many video games, I've cut out all the video games, and started working out regularly about a month and a half ago, just need to maintain discipline with my food intake, and the weight will slowly come off...

That works.

When I was commuting to work via bicycle, not to mention the three-times a week 25-45 mile "excursions" our group would do, my resting pulse was down to the low 40's as a 40+ year old and 2 pack a day smoker.

Now, low 60's, riding infrequently as compared to a decade ago....but not bad for 55.

Why do you not have an option for a 90s resting pulse?

Well, I had just simply never heard of a resting heart rate that high. Is it possible for me to add it in? You're a mod, so if there's no way for me to add it then you are welcome to change it if you would like.

I assume we're talking about resting heart rate? Have to check when I wake up tomorrow evening, only way to get an accurate bead.

I picked 40's, but it was 39bpm at my last physical. Going thru Marine Corps boot camp, they red flagged me, and did all sorts of tests. Thought something was wrong, but I was/am very active. Its documented in my SRB.
