the timer used by scripts is probably not a high precision timer. the regular timer in windows ticks at around 1/18th of a second or something

Sure there is. I've had quite a few beers tonight and I just took a SS of a .109.

Although we're not recording reaction time, we're recording lucky pre-clicks

I only took 6 or 7 tries to get my time, but I guarantee you someone will get a lucky .02 or .03 sometime tonight.

I hate my "reaction" time - I'm very aware of what goes on during the considerable time it takes between me seeing the thing turn green, and my mind instructing my hand to respond.
It's like when Homer found a $20 bill under the sofa.
Homer - "Aww, twenty dollars, I wanted a peanut."
Brain - "Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!"
Homer - "Explain how."
Brain, slowly - "Money can be exchanged for goods and services."
Homer - "Woohoo!"

Really slow, drawn out process, unfortunately.
This is why I eventually stopped playing Counterstrike online. Pathetic reaction time earns you very few kills and lots of time spent simply observing the game.
