"its 2 DOLLARS were talking about"
That buys me 10 fresh BIC shavers, which feel awesome when first used. I'll get at least 10 comfortable shaves from one of those and stretch it farther on occasion. Saving money and being frugal is not just one transaction. It's a mindset that permeates everything you do.
To me, giving 18 year olds a free shaver is a slick ploy. They have no choice about what replacement blades to buy. It's proprietary after all. Like giving away Polaroid cameras for real cheap. They make the money on the replacement film. We're only talking 45 cents per picture after all! A printer for only $99.00, but the ink cartridges are $40.00! Where do you suppose they make their money? We're only talking 6 cents per page after all! Maybe I'm just cynical, but I believe Apple's marketing scheme of giving free PCs to schools years ago was in the same vein. Once the kids were using Macs, their parents bought Macs for home use and the kids bought Macs later. Pure evil, eh?
I'll give a mach 3 a try if I can obtain one for free. I fully expect it to shave just great at first, but I gotta see how long that $2.00 refill holds up. In other words, I ain't getting sucked in by hype! I know how well a fresh BIC shaves and I have zero complaints. I remember when the first disposables came out. I tried using a "safety razor" a few decades ago and believe me, the BICs are heaven compared to those! I remember when they offered the first 2 blade disposables... wow! Then the three blades... OMG! :Q What's next?
