Jesus did anyone else see the totals for the pole? I'm buying stock in Gilette!
But seriously folks, Mach3, then to a Sensor Excel, and now I'm going back to a Mach3.

EDIT: You know you need more sleep when you spell poll wrong. Or maybe its the holiday season.

I also use the Mach 3. I have very sensitive skin and it never causes problems. The initial cost is offset for me by the fact that I can use the same blade for close to 2 months. I also shave in the shower. That is the only way to go!

After using the lovely Mach3 for two or three years, I recently read that razors with multiple blades actually do much more harm than good to my skin. I'm prone to develop razor bumps (which I didn't think increased with my use of the Mach3, just maintained the status quo ... I guess), so I've made the switch to Bic Sensitive single-blade disposables. The shaves certainly aren't as smooth, but I think I'm doing the right things for my skin. Sure I still have razor bumps, but I'm absolutely certain that the situation isn't getting any worse. :/

-SUO, between shaving's a rock and a hard place

I occassionally use an electric shaver, but I prefer old-school razors. I also fell for the Mach 3. I have the most expensive Philishave shaver but it does not save me any time because my facial hair is way too tough for it, and it actually cuts more often than the Mach 3. :| By the way, I go through blades like others go through chewing gum. They are sooooo expensive...

<edit> I live in Japan where we have to pay approximately 6 or 7 dollars for 4 blades.

OMG.. I've been meaning to start a thread about the Mach 3. It?s about the best damn razor ever made. It?s easy to clean too, unlike those disposables. Before, I used to use the BIC originals my dad used. One day I got a mach 3 as a present and I have been using that ever since (~2 years). I need new refills though... Zellers (Canadian retail store like wall mart) is all out of refills during Christmas shopping. Now I can guess how many people use this razor.

another vote for mach 3.. sad but theres no real competition gillete is free to gouge us as they please.. and they do i used to use gillete sensor excel, gillette sent me a free sensor a while back. then they sent me a mach 3 and completely spoiled me. tried going back to sensor.. it soooo did not work.

i've bought disposable razors (bic i think), tore up my face but for shaving gel, any company will do.. it IS all the same

styptic pencils!

I've been using a straight razor for close to ten years now (maybe longer). the blades get dull pretty quick but it works for me and I don't think I'll ever switch.

Wouldn't you know it. My first posting on AnandTech and it's a reply on what razor I use to shave with. Oh well. I have been using the original Gillette Sensor (not Excel) for years. I love it! That is if it's possible to love a razor. I just recently purchased the Gillette Mach3 because the old Sensor is getting a little old. The one I purchased is blue in color. It does shave closer, but I don't like the way the head flops around so easily.

Mach 3. I've cut myself once, but It was on a brand new blade, and without thinking I moved the razor sideways across my face so the blade cut me a little going sideway.
