It looks like you want numbers for Windows 7. I am still using Windows Vista and those numbers top out at 5.9, which mine does, even with my QX9650 underclocked to 2.4GHz to save electricity [CPU voltage ~ 1.08v after VDroop; I could tweak it to find the minimum, but this works fine].
I would love to build a new system around the i5-2500K, however, my car is in the shop for repairs and money must be spent there.
On the flip side, some of my programs only work on Windows XP and I would not expect great gains for MP3 creations to CD on that platform with the 2500K. And, I think Anand, or one of his associates, said there is not much benefit to gaming with the 2500K if someone already owns a good quad core.
These 32nm CPUs are tempting however, because inflation is expected soon and that will drive up prices.
