I'm hoping it'll do what it has done last time, and the time before, and the time before that. Hit 3.499 (that 9/10 penny is soooo stupid btw), then drop down again to under $3 a gallon after a little while.

I hope I get some time to work on the car and get the gas mileage back where it is supposed to be. Getting about 20 when it should get mid-20s at least is really irritating.

*edit* hybrids are retarded IMO. They'll cost you more in the long run.

Still it hurts financially especially when just a few short years ago we were paying less than $2 a gallon.

Gee, I guess they didn't NEED those fullsize trucks and SUVs after all...

Is it time to resurrect the Anti-SUV Brigade?

Good for those of us with a shorter commute and a commuter car. I'm waiting to pick up a nice 4x4 on the cheap for misc activities.

in all seriousness... it sucks... biting the bullet every time at the pump. what can the average citizen do?

Buy more fuel efficient vehicles? .

Bingo. My next vehicle purchase (which looks like 2 years from now) will almost certainly be a Hybrid.

It will stop when the current breed of rich asshats decide they have made enough money off oil and move on to something else.

No.

If you don't like them fine, that's up to you. I don't really like them either. But if someone does like them and wants one they should be free to buy one. It's their money, their choice, it is a free country.

It's $3.17 around my house for unleaded, which is okay, but gradually rising. So we will see what happens, but it definitely sucks seeing how much my wife and I spend on gas every month.

I filled up in Newport Beach on Sunday and paid $3.69/gallon for premium. That was at an Arco gas station (which is typically one of the cheapest).

I see so you would rather force your ideals on others. My brother happens to like his SUV, in fact he even uses it as one. He had a small car and it just didn't cut it for his job at all.

One of the biggest problems is we need more refineries. NEWER refineries that are less prone to problems and are also more efficient. Can't build them though because the greenies won't allow it :disgust:

If gasoline production is impacted because refineries are only running at ~85% capacity, something's wrong. I agree, we need more refineries, but we will run into a NIMBY problem there.

My uncle is in the oil business and he told me that they have oil literally sitting in storage tanks because there is no where to send it. I don't know where you got your 85% from but all I know is what he told me and what happens to the gas prices every single time anything happens to a refinery. If nothing else we need new ones that won't break as much, these things we have are what 40 years old?

I like the change, will make people stop buying gas guzzling suv's as much or paying the price. Shoot I am getting 18 miles to the gallon now on my jeep and I am going to go smaller next time around thats for sure, better for the environment better for everything.

I've already seen $4 here in CA.

Did people make that argument? I think most people knew it was a preference its nice to have some height and the extra room. Plus 4wd for those in winter areas.

You can thank GWB and his GWOT for $4/gallon gas this summer.

good, if he wants the vehicle he can pay the costs which is exactly what is happening, and the greenies are the ones who are concerned about the planet, sorry for the minor inconvenience.

Tell you what, if you want more refineries we'll build them next to your child's daycare or next to your house or your parents house. How's that sound?

Besides, a lack of refining capacity isn't why oil is trading at $105/barrel.

I'm not forcing my ideals on you. I'm expressing my opinion.
