When did McDonald's make their breakfast burrito suck?

I remember back in the day, 80s for sure, almost certainly in the 90s, McDonalds had a breakfast burrito that was very tasty. But now they have a "sausage burrito" that tastes like crap. I'm curious when they made the change. Anyone else remember to good ones from back in the day?

Nope, I don't remember them having a breakfast burrito before the 2000s, but I don't generally dig on fast food breakfast.

I made my share of breakfast burritos when I worked there in the early/mid 90s.

I wasn't into egg back then so I probably never tried one. I'd go for the biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, or cinnamon roll.

the skillet burrito was actually pretty decent. but breakfast tacos are better than breakfast burritos anyway.

Been eating the breakfast burritos and an oatmeal every Friday for about 10 years now from McDs - its serviceable and beats cold cereal for a once a week change of pace. Can anyone confirm that the early burrito was in fact made differently ? I also enjoy the Taco Bell AM bacon Crunchwrap, but they do land in my gut with a thud - its like eating a Poptart that won't be fully digested for at least 20 days.

I agree when they were a dollar use to get them all the time. Now they seem dry and bland.

The burritos are still a buck around here and they are the only McFood I eat. Everything else is too carb heavy.

WT, they definitely changed for sure. When, I have no idea. See bobo's post. Glad I'm not the only ones who think the new ones suck! A taquito from Whataburger is like 1 billion times better.

I rarely eat at McD's (they're like my last resort) but when I do... I order a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit combo. Never tried their Breakfast Burrito.

Breakfast at McDonald's is great. It's one of my first choice for fast food breakfast. My go-to is sausage McMuffin with eggs and hash brown. You can do whole lot worse than McDonald's for breakfast.

I'm a foodie. I always try to look for the best-tasting meals, and McD's just doesn't cut it for me. The times I recall having breakfast there is when I'm travelling in a small town/city and there's nothing else I'd rather have (like Chick-Fil-A).

Foodie would appreciate McDonald's breakfast. Especially sausage McMuffin with eggs and hash brown.

Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese on a roll with Salt Pepper Ketchup.

Good luck finding Taylor Ham outside the NJ area though. It's the best breakfast sandwich meat ever.

this was soooooooo good when it was available. so much sausage you wouldn't believe. i couldn't eat a whole one.
