In which case that thread was wrong, no? Fable has already been confirmed for Q4 of 2015, and it's a DX12 game.We had a thread just like this a couple weeks ago, and the answer hasn't changed...early 2016, with games like Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

DICE (Johan) have said Vulkan or DX12 for Battlefront, they haven't decided yet.
I don't really care which as long as MP gets a nice min fps boost as well as smoother frame times, it's good. "Just a BF4 clone with Star Wars theme" is actually just want I would wanna play. Something different & very retro/sci-fi in the FPS genre for once.
If not DX12 than Vulkan. The new Frostbite engine has limited DX11 performance, so they must use one of the two standard explicit API.Its unlikely that Battlefront will be DX12.
Agreed. I predict that by Q4 2016, Steam will be reporting over 50% on Windows 10. Assuming Windows 10 isn't buggy and that DX12 is as amazing as it is being touted, especially on the low end, there will be a lot of pressure to program a DX12 path.I think the adoption rate by the beginning of CY16 will be quite high. Giving it away for free to existing 7 and 8 users is going to significantly propel the market's uptake. I already have all three machines in the house reserved for Win 10.
No doubt.Going by past experience, a few months before the game is complete.

Logged in just to agree lol. I want a sci-fi shooter/games/tvshows/movies more lol. As long as it's Sci fi I'm usual pretty freaking excited.DICE (Johan) have said Vulkan or DX12 for Battlefront, they haven't decided yet.

What are likely to be the first MMOs or high unit count RTS games that take advantage of DX12?
It will certainly have quite unique graphics engine as well, texture space shading should have some nice benefits.Ashes of Singularity RTS will be out in 2016. Mind blowing how big it is going to be.

Agreed, but see below. That will be an interesting choice considering Johan wrote the Mantle spec.
Win10 is ready for prime time IMO. I'm not hesitating to recommend it coming from Win7. Even without DX12 games being available, WDDM 2.0 drivers have performance advantages that are worth the upgrade.
One thing Microsoft may not have learned about shooting yourself in the foot is that no matter who you can blame, it's still your foot bleeding. Hopefully after Win10 ships this doesn't happen, but unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to test a driver with every possible combination of hardware and game and still release it in a timely fashion. Having a new driver certified for Windows 10 will be cold comfort if it breaks the one game you are playing at the moment.Very likely.
The only thing that will shoot Microsoft in the foot is in regard to forced updates beyond simple security updates. Microsoft should really know better. There should be a way for all users (not just Pro) to block specific updates - especially given how disruptive day-one GPU driver updates can be to the gaming process. There's been a lot of press surrounding the problems that NVIDIA users have been having lately with W10 Preview not allowing them to keep Windows Update from re-installing broken drivers.

I'd bet money on Battlefront supporting some low-level API along with DX11, whether it's Mantle, DX12, or Vulkan. DICE was the studio that helped spearhead the creation of Mantle, and it's been used in Battlefield 4 and Hardline. They aren't about to completely step back from that.
