When is Anandtech doing a review on the Killer NIC?

They played CSS online and, in a weird and bizarre attempt to overclock this card, using dry ice and liquid nitrogen managed it to clock this card up to 9 billion megahertz !

The incredible negative ping created by the card was equivalent to -27 years (actually -851472000 seconds), opened up a GIGANTIC wormhole and sucked the tester right back in time !

Now they're stuck in the 80s and desperately seek to transfer that amazing review to 2007 so we can read it....but there is still minor problems getting online. They're waiting now for the C64 to be released and "somehow" to connect to the internet...and that means patience guys, patience !

did you participate in the review ? Well..i mean the cardt has interesting concepts...but far too "theoretical" and "practical irrelevant" that i'd never bother to spend $49 on such a thing

Most the card is hyped about for i can do with an el-cheapo router, flash a wrtg with ddrt firmware and basically have a mini-linux box running on the router w/ nat firewall and even QoS. Whatever...i am sure $280 could me got some decent low-end router where i can set up whatever running there too.

Man, I read every word in the article, and now my head hurts.

I think it was a very fair review, but trying to read through all of the technical details on NICs was like learning about the lifecycle of plankton or something. It's interesting to a degree, but wow... just... wow.

Anyway, it's too bad that the card doesn't retail for $30-50ish, or it would really be worth thinking about. A 10% increase in frame rates for a budget system would be an excellent boost.

Oh well. Maybe they'll release a "lite" version of the card that has all the improvements without the extra odds and ends.

actually...the NEGATIVE PR this card gets for sure also benefits it too. I am sure there are some d**ba$$es around who actually pay $280 to gain 2ms ping and 3FPS more under rare circumstances.....just let 'em This thing is just *obscenely* overprized...and well yeah every halfway hardware-proficeint person should have the right to ridicule that card - based on the price alone.

I dont think we would sit here and make fun of the claims and debate how stupid it is to gain 2ms ping or maybe a couple FPS more if this would be $30...then it would be a welcomed add-on and certainly interesting for many enthusiats..just to get *that* little edge more...or in case they really dont know where to spend some money anymore because they have already everything. But for $280 its just utterly ridiculous The "gain" is in no relationship to the price...and then add that ridiculous cooler/hsf and you have the "RICER OF HARDWARE"

My onboard gets me 9-15 ping on closest servers in CSS.
6 megabit Internet >>>> "Killer" NIC

Good review, basically concludes that unless you want to pay $280US for 3-5fps improvement (only in certain situations) and immeasurable ping difference (honestly, under 5ms to an outside connection is within margin of error, unless you take an extremely long data set to prove it, and even then 5ms is not noticible).

Hopefully with the NV 8800 series coming out in a few weeks no one will buy this worthless piece of crap. KillerNIC deserves to go out of business for

a) Over-hyping and over-pricing the product compared to what it should cost to build

b) Viral marketing, I refuse to believe they didn't, I saw people popping up around product announcement here, HardOCP, GotFrag? and even Steam forums hyping this piece of garbage. I hope the CEO loses his house.
