If theft for political gain is a wholly owned characteristic of the left why is it virtually every time music is stolen and used in political campaigns it is the right? Artists have to make statements telling them to stop.

Can you point to the part in my post where I said anything about "theft for political gain", or is that just something you pulled out of your butt? It's about justifying activity (sometimes including criminal activity) to silence an opinion you disagree with. Instead of simply accepting that everyone has a right to their opinion and expressing it and expressing your own, they feel the need to silence those that have a "wrong" opinion. This kind of behavior is not 100% exclusive to the left, but it's become pretty much the hallmark of the "tolerant" left.

They aren't stealing the music, the artists just aren't willing to license it to them. And there is no bad (or good) behavior wholly owned by either side.

He was a big fan of Chavez, too, which probably goes a long way toward explaining his absence. STILL trying to wipe all the egg off his face, I imagine.
He's in for a rough time then, for that amount of egg never really goes away.

Someone at Google thought to censor the exact phrase "Trump sign stolen" knowing that MtnMan would try searching on that exact phrase? But not totally censor it, just partially censor it? There is a reason conspiracy theories always slam into a tree in the middle of the road. Hint: you're not in the road.

MtnMan just one-upped it. This thread was a perfect vehicle for broadbrushing folks who dislike Trump yet MtnMan stole defeat from the jaws of victory with his faux victimization rage.

I like to address conspiracy theories like this with an extrapolation of the concept behind Heinlein's Razor: the truth is usually far less exciting than you'd like it to be.

It's easy to claim that Google is censoring anti-Clinton or pro-Trump results, because that makes for a more engaging tale. You're a hero, valiantly exposing the evil tech companies as they try to silence conservative ideas. It's harder to do the right thing and look for more than superficial signs of shady business, because that would require accepting the messy, mundane reality. You'd have to acknowledge that algorithm differences will invariably turn up different results. That it's still easy to turn up pro-Trump results using common search terms. And that trying to censor results is like stopping a dam with your finger... you're not going to be very effective.

It's not much different than with a creationist or climate change denier, really. Acquiring real understanding is hard and unpleasant -- let me cling to my fantasy for a little while longer.

The left loves to talk about hate, but its their rhetoric which emboldens people to cross the line.

2 attempts on a candidate, and one side still pretends they have the moral high ground, Orwellian kind of sums op this election.

Do you have any videos of a drunk douchebag sleeping on a bench in a park getting woke up and promptly assaulting the cops?

It's a bit rich saying that left-wing rhetoric emboldens line-crossing when violence at Trump rallies (usually, though not always, by Trump supporters... including a former campaign manager) is practically a mainstay. And then there's Trump himself, who has demonized Muslims, practically encouraged violence at his rallies and has suggested twice that it'd be great if someone shot his rival.
