I meant "gets tough", that is...
Well not surprisingly, a slew of republican candidates fearing they are losing momentum, have brought out the "Gays are bad" talking points. When it's time to get people irritated, raise money, or simply grab a few news headlines, nothing works better then bashing a Gay person.
Yesterday it was Bachmann vs the little kid and his Gay mom.
And today?

But not to be outdone, queue the monkey (woops, I mean Rick Perry):

Santorum Makes Baffling Comments On Gay Sex
Santorum then said that if same sex marriage was legalized then "their sexual activity" would be seen as "equal" to heterosexual relationships and it would be taught in schools.
"Really--wow--um okay, well let's see if we can have a discussion. We can flesh out some, well, let's look at what's going to be taught in our schools because now we have same sex couples being the same and their sexual activity being seen as equal and being affirmed by society as heterosexual couples and their activity," Santorum said.

Rick Perry Decries Gay 'Lifestyle'
After both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made impassioned speeches Tuesday urging gay rights abroad, Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry issued a response decrying the "deeply objectionable" gay lifestyle.
"This is just the most recent example of an administration at war with people of faith in this country," Perry said in a statement. "Investing tax dollars promoting a lifestyle many Americas of faith find so deeply objectionable is wrong. President Obama has again mistaken America's tolerance for different lifestyles with an endorsement of those lifestyles."
"This administration's war on traditional American values must stop," Perry said.
