I don't normally lose my shit on people, but as you guys know I have lots of reasons. It feels good at the time to fucking snap and let it all out. Always the next day, you are saying sorry or some lame ass shit. Just not a natural feeling,...but damn it feels good at the time though

I've mellowed a bit as I've gotten older. Aside from getting pissed off driving, it's been six months or so since I've gotten into it with a human directly.

We hired an HVAC guy to replace some rusted duct work and we came into the kitchen to find the guy boiling a big pot of potatoes on our stove. He was like, "it's my lunch, dudes."

I wouldn't say spitting/frothing, but I was ready to put someone in the hospital. Was working with the boss and laying out some property corners, and some fuckwit comes out and tells us to "Get the fuck off his property". My temper shot to 11 immediately, and I got into it with him. Boss made the call to pick up the instrument. His company, but I wouldn't have done that.

Every stupid motherfucker in the world is a surveyor just because they can find the north arrow on a piece of paper. Aside from construction layout, this job's really made me hate people, and know for absolutely sure I want nothing to do with customer service(unless I own the business. Then it would be amazing).

Totally losing my cool means fist fighting, not yelling. It's been about 10 years.

Anytime I'm around the wife and have to act like logic doesn't exist for the sake of overall sanity

Eventually you bottle it up to much and it explodes

i've actually never lost my cool that i can recall.

i grew up in an environment where losing your cool had very bad repercussions. so i can take anything in stride, or at least make it look like i am. i've been punched, kicked, and bitten and not once fought back.

also i have mostly stopped caring about anything, which helps a lot in not losing my cool because it doesn't matter.

Mayne, your troubles are self-inflicted. You COULD make the freeloaders move out, but you don't.

I lost my shit today on the phone. My f***ing broker never notified me that they had canceled both of my attempts to add a bank account to my brokerage account. The names didn't exactly match so the system choked and spit the request out. You'd think that would generate some sort of response to the customer saying, hey, we rejected your request, just fyi. But noooooo.

So I had to call and talk with a human. As the phone was ringing I told myself I wasn't going to get upset but at this point I had no idea what the f*** was going on. As far as I knew the requests were getting canceled for no good reason. Eventually the rep found out what was going on and I calmed down but not before I vented my spleen.

I lost it recently! Was really bad. Completely unhinged. Probably my worst outburst ever. I'm sure I broke the law, a bit.

You know how when you're in an unfamiliar city, about to head to another, and you're skeptical about needing to be at the airport 2 hours early, but it's august, so security could take 5 minutes or 105, according to randoms on expedia, so wake up at 4:30 anyway, on like 1.5 hours sleep, and it's dark, and then your gps leads you astray, because it's england, and every mobile provider is crap, and you didn't ask hotel reception for directions, because you're stupid and depend on your phone for everything, and there's very few people on the street to ask for help, and you're in danger of missing the train because you were 20 minutes into a 10 minute walk? One of those classic situations, where things just spiral out of control. Don't see any signs, or people, until finally... a woman, stops, removes an earbud to hear my urgent plea, and then just puts it back in again before walking off without saying a word. Since I wasn't sure how to proceed anyway, but knew it was close, her direction was probably a decent bet, which made me appear all the more psycho, screaming extra loud in case she couldn't hear me through her music, "What? wtf? Seriously? You b, you fing b, I don't believe this, piccadilly train station, b, where is it, you stupid B, piccadilly station! WHERE IS IT," while seemingly following her. Was the opposite direction.

Gave someone a mean right hook to the face at a train station last month because the local gangstalking syndicate in a new city I live in couldn't keep their hands to themselves.

I never give in to road rage type emotions. I don't drive a lot, really as little as possible. I like my car but the roads around here just suck... you have to keep an eye out for potholes continuously.

I can't remember the last time I went off on anyone. I used to occasionally, and usually felt bad afterward, felt guilty or regretted it because it got me in real trouble (nothing violent, just some verbal jousting). I threw some tantrums as a kid but I was aware that it was an act. I had a reputation some years ago as a guy who had a temper. When I do get angry with someone I very often don't realize how angry I am, I just act out my thoughts/feelings, not realizing how I'm being perceived. I guess that's a problem. However, I'm not going to go to blows and generally try not to offend people (well, that's my thinking). I explain my position when I'm offended and try not to get personal. I suppose a lot of this can be seen in my participation in threads here!

A few months ago I was checking up on a reroof project I was managing. It's a flat roof that was also getting some new mechanical units put in. My crew took 15 squares off and was about 2/3 of the way with putting it back on. Keep in mind that this is summer time in NOLA and rain can and often does just pop up in the afternoon. As I am climbing the ladder I see black clouds in the distance so my pucker level was already fairly high and then I see my crew basically standing around. I initially start to lose my shit on the foreman until he tells me the mechanical guys refuse to move out of his way so that they can keep roofing. All they needed to do was give my guys 20 minutes or so to roof around the curb and they could get back to work but after I made a few polite requests explaining this they still refused. The roof was being mopped down with hot asphalt so I said enough of this bullshit and told the guys to fill up the damn mop cart. I grabbed the mop loaded it up with 500 degree hot asphalt and told the crew to grab the rolls we are putting roof down. The mechanical guys stood there with a look of defiance but as soon as I swung that mop into the curb and a drop of that hot asphalt splashed on one of their pants leg (trust me you can still feel it) that look disappeared real quick. They de-assed the area very quickly after that and were all kinds of pissed the hell off. Not much they could do though seeing as how my crew consisted of 6 big ass flat roofers, lets just say that they are a bit rougher than your average construction worker, other than complain to the GC which they did. It actually rained about 20 minutes after we got the roof dried in so when I explained the situation to the GC, in front of the two assholes, the GC laughed and said "good call, these two idiots damn near flooded my building".

I was acting rather calm but I was willing to do great bodily harm to two assholes.

Yeah. I had a short temper as a kid. I think I grew out of it at some point in high school. Just quit caring.

It takes too much energy to get angry & stay angry. That and I think I eventually realized that I didn't have to take the bait just because it was there in front of me. I'm not one for drama, so I just let stuff like that slide now.

That has helped tremendously in my line of work (IT), which can be very frustrating due to deadlines (mostly uptime requirements), people (mostly with certain attitudes), and problems (hardware/software). Especially because when I first got into IT, I was doing coding, and you run into a lot of frustrating little problems all the time & getting hung on them emotionally just slows you down. Learning to swallow that pride & just keep plowing through the problem is what gets things done.

The dog broke into the house and ate my remote. I was under control about cooling the south east all day. I was under control with the pillow fluff. I was under control with the wife's $500 mouthpiece. I was cool with the kid's toy. But that fucking remote eating dog....like he owed me money. That's been 10 years ago and was a bad day.

My wife's mother came up to the house drunk (she lives down the road. Literally) Over $4 our little girl had.

We've been teaching her about money and how it works, she's 7. She does chores, gets paid, spends or saves as she wishes even though we encourage saving. She did some chores for her grandmother and made $6 but she only had a $10. I told her we'd give her the change tomorrow, I almost never carry paper currency.

So she wanted something at a store and paid for it. I told her that we needed to give the $4 to her mawmaw so she handed me $4 and that was it. Well my wife sent her a text later that night at like 9:30pm asking if she had brown sugar so she could make a marinade. She said yes and to bring her money. Not a big deal but my wife took a bath right after texting her.

She thought that she wouldn't get her money I guess because about 5 mins after not hearing back from my wife she let herself in to the house causing the dogs to bark, while I was trying to get the kids to bed. All over $4

So I lost it. She knows not to come up unless she calls ahead. She was shown the door promptly.

5 calls into ATT. Trying to port my #s to a viop. Recorded all of them. Told the last few that their co-workers lied to me and I have it all recorded. They don't give a rats ass and not much I can do but bitch.
