When will ar15 ammo prices drop?

my local walmart finally has ar15 ammo.
but its $70 for 150 brass rounds. thats .47/round.

when will .30/round be back for brass, if ever?

I don't think we'll be seeing $.30/round anytime soon but $.35/round should happen before to long for sales/deals. $.40/round isn't hard to get right now if you shop around. Of course this is for quality brass.

Prices are already coming down.

Palmetto State Armory has federal 55 grain 223 remington on sale for $399 for 1,000 rounds.

As Wreckem said, it's function of supply and demand, free market capitalism. For the past several years you have had widespread panic buying of guns and ammo. Given the mindset of a substantial minority of the American public, I don't expect this to change in the foreseeable future or until some other fad replaces this one.

To answer the question about ammo prices: mostly supply demand.

You have MILLIONS of new gun owners who want to buy ammo in the most common calibers (.223, .308, 9mm, .40, .45, etc) and thus supply was quickly depleted. Once word of scarcity spread people begin to buy whatever they could find, perpetuating the depletion of inventory.

Don't buy any ammo for the next year and prices will have to come down.

I'm low on AR-15 Ammo....I bought a thousand rounds 2 years ago and have since had trouble finding it. I've been too busy really to shoot much, but it's time to start buying again. We're soon getting some more major retailers around here so there'll be some new local competition to drive the price down.
