when will the DPC pass us in the overall stats?

lets face it guys and galls, we passed /. because we are faster then they are, but DPC are faster then we are, so if that wont change they will pass us in the overall stats, right? my question is when, and what is the chance the contest will be over by then?

Anyway, I almost did get the date of you passing /. right! Whicj means that my calculation method does have some merit.
With the stats-outage of the past weeks it is virtually impossible to re-calculate recent growth, so I stick with the old values for growth.
I think DPC will fully recover within this week.
Also I know that some subteams are saving up already for a while to do some mini-flushes still this year (my guess is that there is at least around 10M saved up somewhere), so you just watch us come!

I think you will have to do some serious assimilation to keep us behind you!

Anyway, congratualations with the great job of passing /. - now people will now for sure that there are only 2 big teams left in the race!

How come DPC is so much more powerful than we are? It seems to be an almost exclusively dutch team, while we are an international team of one of the most popular HW-site on the net. Doesn't seem right to me, what's their secret?

Bakwetu,

Our assimilation process is just picking up speed. IF all goes as planned, we should be able to keep ahead of the DPC.

One of the reasons the DPC do so well in RC5-64 is, because they almost completely focus on that contest. They have a few members (~30-40) working OGR. TA on the other hand is involved in 4 projects (RC5-64, OGR-25, Seti and GammaFlux). In all those projects TA plays a leading role.
Some TA-members are working on smaller projects (Prime, PopPow or Parabon).
If all the TA-members were on RC5, then we would blow the DPC to RC5-heaven . However, this will never happen, since every TA-er has its own project-preferences, as it should be.

The other reason they are doing so well, is because they have mobilized almost every computer in The Netherlands (except for the few Dutch TA-members, including my small herd ).

The answer to their massive power can only be: ASSIMILATE AND RECRUIT.

There are also Dutch people working on SETI and primes but they don't want to change their name to DPC.
This is just to give you a small sence of security that you can beat us at some point:Q.

And remember, if you ask people all over the world to name 5 countries accept their own they will say america but also the netherlands:Q. So we are already famous but we want to be the best.

Why?
Said it before... and I'll reiterate.

The DPC do a tremendous job of communicating with, and managing their members.
TA has a good forum that approximately 50 of the near 700 RC-5 daily participants get involved in.

Do the math folks. There's been alot of really good work done, and some significant efforts put into TA.com and the newsletter, etc. We still need a membership list, and to contact our members on a regular basis to communicate, and motivate. I will not (repeat for those who don't believe it) will not back off of that position.

Without developing some cojones about getting information to the team - we will lose 1st place, guaranteed.

BTW, If some one did asked me that question like 6 months ago, I wouldn't have said Netherlands. But now that we know each other, I think I probably will say Netherlands.
