I, too, am a lifelong Yankees fan. But I can tell you that without a pitching staff, they will be lucky to play .500 ball this year.
That's one thing about we Yankees fans we stick it out.. good and bad, we're not just fair weather fans.
Except when you became a yankee fan. Or maybe you're just the other 50%. Seriously... I wonder why there are so many Yankee fans in the world... how many of them are true fans ?
I was born and raised in NY which makes most of us instant diehard Yankee fans.
meh, 50/50. Why not the Mets ? I know family can contribute to a lot of people's decisions too. I wouldn't say 'most'. Born and raised too - Queens. Guess why my other half of the family are Yankee fans... yup... they won a lot more. While they're die-hard now, the reason they became Yankee fans in the first place... ugh.
Back in the 1980's when the Yankees were bad, there were a lot fewer Yankee fans & those that were rooting for them then are true fans ... 75% of the rest are front-runners who only jumped on the bandwagon when the team started winning wouldn't stick with them if they hit a down-period.
Proud to be a Yankee fan in the 80's when they sucked.
Rickey, Windfield, Barfield, Claudell Washington, Tim Leary, Steve Farr, Scott Sanderson, Steve Trout, Joel Skinner, man they sucked.
