When you're on a collision path with a fellow pedestrian, what do you do?

I usually move because most of the time people are *&$#ing oblivious and don't even realize they are surrounded by other people.

Ususally I take initiative and do a sidestep, but inevitably the person does the same, sidestepping back in front of me. Then, we repeat the process, doing some akward litttle dance.

After the 2nd or third step, i usually just bolt.

one time my friend was riding a bike. I can't believe this happened. From my standpoint, I see my friend riding, and he looks at someone in front of him in a wierd stare. All of a sudden, I see him collide w/ another person in a bike WTF.

My friend said that he was hoping the other guy can turn. Basically, both guys thought the other would turn, and they stared at each other and then they collided before both realized that the other won't turn.

My friend got a huge sprained ankle from that, and his ankle swelled up 2-3 times the size of its norm

Yeah, that really bothers me too.

That and when there's a bus stop and people just make a huge group in the middle of the sidewalk blocking it all instead of making a line parallel to the sidewalk on one side as to let people walk by...

The trick to making the other guy move is very simple and slightly anti-social. Simply avoid all eye contact and keep moving in a straight line.

i sometimes move out of the way, but sometimes i just want the other person to move and i'll bump into them if they don't. i guess it just depends on my mood.

Again, avoid eye contact and keep walking straight. That tsunami will part like the red sea and you will feel like moses himself.
