This was taken in Portugal. I love the little shops and the narrow streets. No cars in these old towns. This is my wife and son. This pic was taken in 2008.

Also in Portugal, this is the point that is the farthest west of all of Europe. It is very windy and the climate kind of reminds me of California. I really like this shot, I just think it's a beautiful picture of mother and son.

Hi Paige! *waves frantically* lol How are you? Long time no see. I was coming back from a two-week trip to England exactly a year ago today. It was beautiful out there. I got to see a lot of stuff. If I remember, tomorrow I'll post a pic from Stonehenge.

O and even though i posted the coolest place ill post the most moving/saddening/interesting. If you read my above post i was in Germany. Well we went to Dachau concentration camp. I will honestly in all my life never forget that. From "Arbeit Mach Frei" on the fence to just see the row after row after row of prisoner housing. The meusem portion was interesting and amazing. Explaining nearly everything about the nazi's and the purpose of the camp. How they tried to make it into a normal housing area after the war by planting rows of tree (which were still there). We went as an all American group. I will honestly never forget the experience. Ive always though of it as a whatever i can handle it and go look at everything and not be bothered. But ill tell you even though its been 50+ years i couldn't go to the crematorium. Just the thought and history of it, both my friend and i without speaking just stood at the walkway to it (like 100 feet away) and couldn't go any further. Didnt even say a word and just spent the next hour in the barracks portion before we even said anything to each other.

Dont think many people experience those types of moments of just sheer magnitude and admiration at the same time that you just cant see it/experience it.

And to this day (7, almost 8 years later) i still dont think i could manage to see that area of Dachau.
Every time I took a picture at Dachau, people looked at me like I was raping their daughter. The crematorium was somber but it didn't stop me from taking pictures of the ovens and the beams where they hanged people.

You'll LOVE it, but be sure to have EXCELLENT directions from the airport to your friend's place, because the streets of Zurich were laid out by a madman.

Suggest you ask your friend to meet you at the airport to lead you to the destination.

I kid you not, you can burn a whole tank of gas merely trying to go from A to B in Zurich.

You'll LOVE it there! (Fx is against you right now)

I think most of Switzerland is that way.

I've found cool things just about everywhere I've traveled. Here are a few:

Paris -- You can never go wrong with Paris. Tons to do and lots of things to see.
Rome -- The history and sites in this city are unimaginably cool.
Florence -- I highly recommend anyone going to Italy to spend some time in Florence.
Seoul -- A massive city with an interesting history. In many parts of the city, you'd think you were in Manhattan if not for the Hangul script.
Barcelona -- fabulous city with tons of interesting architecture.
Brazil -- Overwhelming poverty in some places but a beautiful country with lots of hot women.

Been a lot of places, so I'm going to go with the one that's been most unique for me; Iquitos Peru. One of the major cities on the upper Amazon, while still 3000 kilometers away from the ocean the river is still 2km across. Completely inaccessible by car (plane or boat only), and the major form of transportation within the city is by tut-tut (motorized rickshaw). Photos follow:

Piranha fishing:

I have been to several places around the world.

Let see. Mexico, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore.

Future plans to Australia, Europe, and then Africa so I can say I cover most of the continents except Antarctica.

More people and more traffic - crazy traffic, especially in Asia. The foods were much different and not as large portion as US, even at McDonalds and no free refill. The soda drinks were not as strong, not enough “zippy carbohydrate”. I spent about a month per trip.

I made the trips mostly to setup my businesses. I just walked around and hang out with the natives and tried to speak the native langues with them. Most of the time, people were friendly and nice when you being nice to them. Just have to watch out for the hustlers and scammers. I even were proposed by hookers on motorbikes several times..LOL.

I love to travel because it is my hobby and I love to see and learn from different cultures and people. I haven't had a horrible experience with my trips yet. I did have a thread with several pictures but too lazy to look it up now.

Here are a few pictures:

Typical traffic

Open air market. Women shirts = $1.5 USD each.

Gift shop

Those are LIVE electric wires

Food Court

I also spent time around the US. New York City, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, and so on.

I'd recommend just taking public transit in Zurich. The city government has been actively working to make it less car friendly for the past few years, and Switzerland has some of the best public transportation in the world. Best of all it's almost all above ground (no subways) so he could see the city while getting from one point to another.

Mont St Michel in France is a pretty cool site. The inside of the abbey is actually kind of "meh," but just seeing it is a great experience.

Being on top of any mountain is an amazing feeling.

Xel-Ha in Cancun... I want to go back!

Xel-Ha is fucking AWESOME!

we went there for a day trip to there first then Tulum for the afternoon.

after being at Xel-Ha for like 2 hours, we did not want to leave and visit Tulum, so we skipped Tulum. wasted $20 but definitely worth staying at Xel-Ha. we did not want to leave.

coolest place I have gone is probably Maui. just so much neat nature to see over there.

barbados was also awesome because we stayed in a $45k/week villa with staff that we paid $0 for, so that was nice.

nicaragua was cool too because we flew to a tiny island off the coast called Corn Island. very remote and very underdeveloped.

atlantis bahamas was amazing too, i may go back there this year again.

cancun is always a good time just a fun party place with awesome excursions.

aruba can't be beat also, i'd go back there every 3 months if i could. just something about that island that is different.

Coolest would probably be Delphi in Greece. Great ruins/history and the setting is nothing short of spectacular.

I have limited travelling experience, although it is literally my number one life goal to travel extensively. That being said:

I went to Australia when I was 13, so I probably don't remember everything perfectly (it was 10 years ago), but it was amazing.
Obviously BEAUTIFUL everywhere, went hiking in a rainforest, went to aboriginal shops, went to a zoo where you could pet kangaroos, hang out with kookaburras, hold koalas.
Food was fun, don't remember any fantastic meal that stands out, but it was fun to learn what they called stuff over there. And I'm sure I definitely did have some great meals.
Best snorkeling experience of my entire life. So incredibly fun and beautiful.
Even just swimming in the shallows of the ocean was incredible. There was this little teensy fish that followed my sister and I everywhere, it was so cute.
And of course, the accents and way of saying things was fun to listen to
