It's the only form factor that makes sense for Trinity, so why do none of the OEMs have it on offer for the launch? ASRock has a product page but no existence in the channel yet.

Why don't you silly Taiwanese want my money?

No long term or lasting market exists for AMD, it's all about Intel and ramping up for Haswell, then Broadwell, then Skylake, then Skymont. Anything else is a waste of effort, time and attention.

1 A8-5600k and 1 Asrock FM2 Mobo ordered!!

A8 CPU is $10 off with a coupon and I should be able to overclock past A10 speeds. My Llano mobo/cpu setup will go in the FS thread uber cheap soon

I don't know if I would trust Zotac quality, but they do look nice from a feature perspective.

Edit: Newegg review of the ASrock board mentions two of the ITX boards blowing the same capacitor. Newegg no longer carrying that board. Coincidence?

No cap issue here and running that board.

I've used plenty of Zotac products. They're not the greatest by any means, but I've never had one fail any more than any other hardware vendor. They've shown the same track record in my experience as Gigabyte and Asus.

Zap reported that at least one, if not two, of his Zotac boards got flaky after a while.

As you can read on the internet the power supply chips on the board are overheated when gaming. This is how I solved the FM2A75M-ITX heat poroblem.
Running Prime 95 + Furmark =111W(A4-5300) power usage and the temps don't get over 70C on the small heatsinks. CPU temp=48C. Bios 1.90

I had a ton of problems with this board and I returned mine. I noticed the PCB/VRMs on the FM1 version is exactly the same as the FM2A75M-ITX. Llano clearly didn't tax the VRMs as much as these Piledriver variants.

Rvenger, the GPU on this CPU is so much faster than the 1 on my 3850. As a HTPC the A4-5300 is unmatchable in graphic quality and fluidity. As you can see in my sig I had a i3-3225 HTPC before this 1 and that was ok.....everything said.

I think a friend of mine had an AM2 Zotac ITX board die. It may have been that cheap Nvidia chipset board that was always being blown out for $25 a couple years back.

I had a Zotac 775 ITX board die. Don't remember which one, but it was some Intel G4X chipset with WiFi. I didn't register the board so it was past the 1 year warranty.

I have a Zotac H67 chipset board in my Antec ISK rig which is flakey. It first started to lock on POST occasionally. Upon reset it would automatically go into BIOS, and exiting without saving would allow it to boot up normally. Then it got to where it would do that REGULARLY every other time. Yup, turn on machine, boots up fine. Next time, locks on POST and when reset would automatically go into BIOS where exiting without saving would allow it to boot up fine. Next time powering on it would boot up fine. Rinse, repeat. This developed over maybe a half year period. Then one day it was unable to boot up into Windows at all, locking up either during boot or as soon as desktop appeared. Windows setup (from a USB stick) would also lock up. I haven't had time to troubleshoot it properly so there exists the possibility that some component is causing this problem. Also, I did register this motherboard so I still have around 10 more months of warranty left on it.

I also have a Zotac Atom 330 board with built-in PSU. I bought it on a hot deal but it was still super expensive. It is no longer under warranty. It is unstable, using known good RAM (DDR2) and an SSD. It runs, but will randomly lock up. Not a temperature problem, because I tried putting a fan on the passive CPU heatsink. Possibility that it is a compatibility problem with the RAM (standard Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1.8v yada yada) or the SSD, but even if it is a compatibility problem, I don't have to like it. :\

See this thread.
For my i7-3770k, a 77W TDP SKU, at 3.9GHz LinX loaded the chip uses 66W.

For my FX-8350, a 125W TDP SKU, at 4GHz LinX loaded the chip uses ~195W.

I'm wondering if it is too difficult to supply the AMD APUs with enough power in the limited PCB size of mini ITX?

Sure seems like it to me.

I'm no longer looking at an FM2 ITX rig, I'm looking at the ASRock A85X Extreme4-M FM2 micro-ATX board.

I dont think its a size issue. More likely $$$.

You can get great overclocking Z77 ITX boards for example. Like the Asus one.

A friend of mine bought an MSI A75X FM2 Mini-ITX board for a NES HTPC project which was available on both M-Wave and NewEgg but has since dropped off the map.
