Where are the Nvidia 6150 motherboards?

I see a lot of product pages for them, but no availability.

On a related note - any info on a DFI 6150 board? Every one I've seen so far has at least one drawback for me.

For what it's worth, the Asus A8N-VM CSM looks like a great motherboard. Is the drawback of this one the fact that it's micro-atx? With onboard everything (including dual monitors) and with preorder prices <$100 it's looking like a great board. Skimming through the manual it looks like it has the full complement of RAM adjustments and the FSB goes up to 240. I didn't see info on voltage adjustments however. Onboard video chipsets are rarely aimed at enthusiasts but this one looks like it might be a pretty decent one.

Though it's the Geforce 6100 northbridge, Newegg has the Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 which, aside from the slower onboard video and only vga out (no dvi) looks like a good board too. The bus layout in their manual didn't seem quite right to me though after comparing AT's slides in their C51 article...

Edit: DFI is a launch partner for the C51 as seen here.

I went through the A8N-VM CSM's manual too, and one thing I don't see is voltage adjustment for the memory. On an A8N-E, you'd get to that by going to Advanced > JumperFree Configuration and then setting the Overclock Profile to Manual, and that would unlock the items that are greyed out, including voltages.

On the A8N-VM CSM, the manual shows the JumperFree menu, and says "The following item appears only when you set the AI Overclocking to Manual" and then it lists the CPU bus speed. Period. No voltage adjustments listed there. I think that's foolish of Asus, because there IS memory out there that will freak on just 2.6 volts (which I assume is what the board defaults to).

Still, I may get one to try out. But I will make sure to get good-quality "vanilla" memory like Crucial PC3200, something that's not going to need 2.7-2.8V to stabilize.

i thought all the 6150's were recalled? some problem with data corruption...

I saw the blurb on Nvidia's site about launch partners. I was hoping that DFI would have announced something by now.

Does the Asus 6150 board have component out?

No, that was something made up by The Inquirer. Nvidia released a statement saying they had no idea what The Inquirer was talking about.

That was supposedly a rumor started by The Register.

So far, for overclocking options the Biostar Tforce series of boards seem to be it.

I'm going to revise my statement. Atacom is now saying that they won't get the Asus 6150 in until the 18th of November. I can't wait that long.

Does anyone have any opinions about the Gigabyte 6100/430? I'd really like video out and digital audio but I can deal with not having them.

doesn't say -why- they gave it 3.5 though, i don't much care for integrated video performance since i'm going to put an x800xl in it...

as long as usb is stable and everything else is okay, it should be okay, right?

i just don't want the usb flakiness/performance problems that i get with my ati xpress200 chipset

I'm kind of scared about the performance of the 430. Both the Foxconn they compared it to and the Gigabyte used the GeForce 6100 but the Foxconn with the 410 actually performed better. They talk about Foxconn pushing the 410 harder than Gigabyte pushed the 430 but that doesn't sound like something Foxconn would do. I'm also curious if the poor performance is another reason that we haven't seen another 430 board on the market. I really want the 4 SATA ports and the gigabit ethernet (I view them as very important) but I'm not sure it's worth sacrificing performance.

Please tell me someone else has some opinions on this. I need to build a new box and I'm just waiting for a motherboard at this point. It has to be mATX and support SATA and PCIe. Integrated graphics would be nice so I don't have to spend $100 on a 6600 or the like (I see no point in spending $50 for a 6200TC which would be worthless to me).

This is getting frustrating.

I'm currently in the same situation that you are in at the moment. I have all my parts except the motherboard and I've been patiently waiting on the Asus.

I'm now thinking of going with the Biostar tforce 6100 and a video card. I really don't need the extra sata or gigabit ethernet. I planned on getting a video card down the road because the onboard video, while decent wouldn't be enough for my needs. I'm probably gonna give it a couple more days and then pull the trigger.

The Asus board looks like a killer HTPC board. It lists a "TV-out bracket" as optional part (probably $15-20 shipped) and it already has a DVI output.

I was hoping the Asus board with have component out as well, but I guess not. I can always use a VGA to Component cable, or a transcoder I guess.

One other thing. DFI is listed on Nvidia's page as a launch partner for these chipsets. I'm really suprised that there hasn't been any information regarding their offerings. If anyone gets it right, it'll be DFI I'm betting.

Asus has put out a new manual for the A8N-VM CSM, version e2294:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

However, I checked and the settings in the JumperFree Configuration section are the same. The only adjustment listed is for the FSB frequency (appears when Overclocking is set to Manual).

(Maybe that's the same version of the manual as the one you were looking at, mechBgon, but I looked just to make sure.)

I believe there are 3 motherboards available with the Geforce 6150 chipset.

Asus A8N-VM CSM
Gigabyte GA-K9N51PVMT-9
Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS

The Foxconn looks to be first to market...
I've read all the manuals..

the asus a8n vm csm has dual vga out (1 dvi and 1 dsub) and also seems to have an internal tvout connector
the gigabyte k9n51pvmt has only 1 vga out (no dvi but dsub) and an external tv-out

methinks i'd go for the asus

edit: i found out albatron is coming with an 6150 board that has dvi out too...and some bios settings for oc'ing

Any idea where I would get the TV out bracket?

doesn ASUS A8N-VM CSM have bios issues as well? I'd still love to buy it and slap a X2 3800 on it, or maybe BIOSTAR TForce6100-939. It seems to have more positive reviews about it than any othermATX 939, especially in overclockin department.
