where can i find older versions

Hey guys Just got my R9 280 and i am having issues with AMD catalyst 14.9. I am getting fuzzy,blurry, unsharp text on my westinghouse L2410NM monitor (resolution is 1920x1200). I had this issue with the nvidida cards where it had to do with the EDID of the monitors so that was easy to fix, but have no clue how to do it with the amd drivers.

i did a lot of googling and notice a lot of people are having this issue with 14.9. Is any one having this issue or have had this issue before?

In the mean time people have been rolling back to 14.4 drivers but I cant seem to find them on the AMD site, anyone know where or how I can download the older version?

I am thinking of returning the card and going back to nvidia.

I just went to amd.com, clicked on drivers + support, specified my old 5770 for Win764, then I get the "here's the latest driver" page. On that page, on the right-hand column near the bottom, there's a link labelled "previous drivers and software".

Damit I got of bed to try an older version and it fixed the fuzzy text but every time I install the driver and after reboot it does something weird to where it makes digsby not work anymore.

It's like it hangs/ crash while going into desktop after reboot of driver installation.

Try uninstalling drivers using DDU and reinstalling. Sometimes it takes a good cleanout of old drivers/ccc etc.

Another option is to run the Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to assign the desired resolution to your display. Then, your drivers, regardless of which version, will correctly recognize the desired/native resolution of your display.

I used this to enable a 16:9 2560x1440 native resolution on a 30" 16:10 that didn't officially support it according to the EDID information. What that means is before running CRU, it was not possible for me to see that 2560x1440 resolution as a choice. But after CRU, that custom resolution appeared and let me select it in windows and games. And there was a setting in the monitor that let me choose whether to have black bars on the top/bottom of the 30" 1600p display, or stretch (and I would avoid stretching, and have the black bars).

So maybe your issue is from the EDID info being confused on the monitor, confusing your video card, so you can probably set it straight using CRU to specify the exact resolution of your monitor, while still enjoying the benefits of the latest drivers and not reverting to older driver versions.

I will try this out and will also try the DDU.

You might want to double check the scaling options under the CCC. If you went with HDMI, and occasional it can happen with other connections, they often default you to some scaling, which blurs text.

You might also check to make sure you didn't set MLAA in the CCC, that will cause some post processing AA, which blurs text.

Last, if all that is normal, you may want to run Windows Cleartype utility to calibrate text on the desktop.

Where do you find the MLAA settings in CCC?

SIGH! nothing has worked. i guess i should just get a new monitor. seems the most logical step to take now.

It could simply be a bad cable. Make sure to try a different video cable to connect the video card to the display. Perhaps even try VGA or anything other than HDMI.

I know its not the cable since when I was using my 560ti, i also had that blurry text but i was able to hack the .inf file in the nvidia driver to fix it. theres just no way for me to do that with the AMD drivers.

what i also find interesting is that ever since i put in the new card my instant messanger Digsby has been having issues lol. but when i uninstall the drivers Digsby works flawlessly.
