Where can I find this cable for cheap?

I just bought a Ford Focus and tried to connect my older ipod to it and it would not play. I connected my iphone and it played fine.

Turns out that the older ipods need a special cable - this one but I'm not paying $50 for it. I can probably sell mine and get a newer ipod for the same amount.

I tried ebay and google but didn't see anything. The cable is labeled as AC-25.

is it not charging? I had the otherway around problem, newer ipod not working with older docking station. I had to buy a scosche passport so it will work, its $25. it might or might not be the solution you are looking for.

It's charging and says iPod connected but when I try to switch to USB audio sync says there's no device connected.

An FM Modulator can be had for about $10. You'll have to run the thing from the ipod though. Alternatively you can build your own interface cable for about $20 and a lot of swearing.

This guy has one as part of a package with a 1st gen ipod, maybe he will sell you just the cable.

Maybe I've just used the wrong ones, but my experience with FM modulators has been that the sound quality is kind of cruddy. I'd pick a direct connection over FM any day, even if the cost was a bit more.

As far as the cable goes, you could probably find a generic version with identical functionality that's a lot cheaper. Car accessories are expensive, that adapter is way overpriced just because it's "made for Ford." Found a couple on eBay that might work.

The first one uses RCA plugs, but you can buy an adapter (probably a few dollars shipped at monoprice.com) to convert them to a 3.5mm stereo plug. The second one I can't tell what the audio connector is, but it looks like it could be a 3.5mm jack.

You might also look around a bit more, I just did a quick search and came by these two.

Looks like Ford forgot to give you the cable. I would ask for a refund.

Its not the ipod usb cable - its a special cable that Ford uses for the older ipods. im thinking that all of this is not worth the time/effort and may just get a new one instead.
