where can I find this nipple?

I have been using my zalman cnps7000 heatsink for a while on my Intel, but I am upgrading to AMD 64, and I have misplaced the golden nipples required for installation.
Any ideas of how to replace these?

Send an email to Zalman tech support...I am willing to bet they would help you without any problems. Probably would mail you some for free.

Don't need 'em. The Zalman HSFs will fit on the stock AMD mounting brackets. Just so you've got a motherboard that has the mounting brackets with screws (there are only a very select few that don't).

I emailed the online store I bought them for and they were mailed to me within days. (I however had defected nipples for the VF-700) ...Zalman tech support did not even reply. Never buy Zalman.

hmm..i'll do some checking in one of my comp boxes. I had plenty of those for an older Zalman heatpipe.

That is what I thought! I could swear the picture of the mobo I am getting (a biostar) had screw holes high enough to fit the HSF.

I certainly hope your experience with Biostar products is better than mine. Oh well, at least my family has learned not to try and cheap out on computer parts.

If you mean the thumbscrews, you can find substitutes around the web. They are just no.6 or M3 thumbscrews. You can even get gold anodized ones but they won't look quite the same. You could even use ordinary case or optical drive screws in a pinch.

That's funny...my zalman stuff has always worked excellently.

When I did email them, the CEO emailed me back personally. Can't get much better than that.

I've too got a Zalman too where I lost the mounting tools for Athlon64 boards, but it screwed in perfectly into the stock AMD mouting brackets. The only manufacturer I know that doesn't use the screws is ASRock.

Biostar had a really nice nForce2 board that I bought many of, only 1 return out of maybe 15 purchased, and that return was immediate. But I've tried some of their s754, the version 1.0 boards are a wreck, but their version 1.1 boards that I got back from rmas seem to hold up well. But because of those early problems, I've switched to buying MSI boards.
