actually the dollar coins aren't the plentiful at my bank. They are almost the exact weight I need also so washers don't work. My bank only had about 15 of them. I'm not sure the gov likes to circulate them anymore. http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2011/12/14/143648506/white-house-kills-dollar-coin-program

OK seriously, WTF are you using them for? They need to be a specific size and weight that magically matches with a dollar coin?

And a bank can get more of them if you just tell them how many you want...

this, except this guy used balsa wood which is way too light of a counterweight since I put lead tape near the top and need almost the same weight on the handle to even out the balance.

You should use solid gold coins as they won't corrode. Yeah, that's it. Use gold...

I might not understand this properly, but wouldn't a lighter racket be beneficial as it takes less energy to move it, enabling you to move it faster and thereby hit the ball with more power? Why would you want a racket that's partially made of dense metal?

Did not know the US actually had dollar coins, are they still in production or is this a thing from the past?

If you want dollar coins for less than a dollar you can just get Canadian ones too. Assuming they'd be the right size. One thing I have not seen in a long time is 1$ in paper, or $2 in paper. I remember when the $2 coins came out actually and I told myself I should keep all my $2 bills. Too bad I never did it, they'd probably be worth a lot now.

Oh not sure if it's the case in the US or not, but has anyone ever put a $20 into a change machine and for once the machine actually worked? I did that once figuring it wont work, like usual, but it's worth a shot. Well it worked. All freaking quarters. LMAO. It sounded like I just won a huge jackpot or something. Ka Cling! Ka Cling! Ka Cling! Ka Cling! as I'm scrambling to try to hold all those quarters in both hands.

They stopped making them because most people don't like them. The government has hundreds of millions of them in reserve. So they are plentiful if you want them.

The one in the laundromat nearby does that, even though it's marked $1, $5 and $10. Owner is not happy when it happens since he has to replace the quarters more often.

Vending machine at work used to give out those Sacagawea $1 coins. Same at the post office when you bought stamps, but it was removed a few years ago. :\

Guys. This isn't really that stupid of a question. Ever try to find a dollar coin lately? It can be hard depending on your location. I know, I collect them (and sometimes spend them), and ever since my bank stopped ordering them last year, it's been a pain in the ass.

The question "where can I get dollar coins" may not be stupid, but the reason certainly is.

I'm at a loss as how washers aren't the right weight. Between english and metric washers, flat washers, split washers, star washers, hardened washers, or body washers that can be had from size #4 which would require a dozen to equal a gram to 4" flat washers which would likely weigh a pound. I would think there might be something in the general weight of a dollar coin in there somewhere.

I have about $100 or so in various $1 coins (brand new uncirculated). Maybe I can start selling them. Let start the bidding.
